GR, Have you replaced the turbo with your new "D" turbo yet? I'm assuming you have. Have you driven it much since?
Did the EGTs go back down(proving the D moves more air) and power back up?
Can you feel a difference in power "when you put your foot into it"? Less smoke?

No, they all came with modern engines that are common and reliable.
I think it would be less work to swap a Multi fuel into a modern truck chassis (F600 or whatever)
On the 2 cyl engine, there is a plastic gear that has internal splines that fit on the governor shaft, Then gear has a hole that the magneto drive pin goes into. The outer dia of the gear is driven by the cam.
Have you looked at a technical manual for a parts picture?
