M1009 Help Needed Strange Starting Issues

I would start by pulling the controller card out and cleaning the contacts with a pencil eraser. Then I would unplug and clean the temp sensor on the Drivers side head( inner rear). Next, I would use a meter and see if the relay is activating. Measure incoming and outgoing voltages and...

    M1009 Voltmeter question.

You just need a resistor across the terminals (as the stock unit had). It's 300 ohm. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/7715-i-need-voltmeter-gauge-cucv-m1009-1985-a.html

    Project Time Once Again

I would really like one of those, to sling over my shoulder on Opening Day of deer season. I'd just pull up to the guys in my truck, get out, sling that beast over my shoulder and walk into the woods. Leaving them all stunned.

    Self-correcting master cylinder leak?

Either air pack is interchangeable on the truck, with no modifications needed. Either as a spare, will be useful later on down the road. You will need to swap the old fittings, anytime you have a new air pack(they do not come with them)..

    BOSCH Duraterm Glow Plugs

I think I'll try the Bosch, next. I have never used them, and I would like to have real experience with them as well. The experiance/info posted by tamecrow sounds promising. I've had/used 32 Wellmans(18 failed), in about 18 months(8 have swollen), then switched to AC60G and used about 10(...

    BOSCH Duraterm Glow Plugs

Chuck Gilles. I had about 12 of them fail/swell. HE said they were having QC issues and sent me free replacements. I would not call telling me they had a problem, "bad mouthing". My personal experiance with Wellmans, leads me to aviod using them. Simple as that. The fact that they are...

    BOSCH Duraterm Glow Plugs

The correct Wellman GP for a CUCV is the 050, not the 070. They are supposed to heat up faster than AC60G GPs. 070 GPs are 24 volt. Use of them would only give you about half the heat of the correct GP. That would explain why yours are "slow". Autolite and Wellman have NO bussiness...
