    the wire does go though the hyd. swivel, though mine has been by-passed with a wire comming up behind the swivel, in fact at the ga. rally, this is what i had to connect after i swrung over the front to use the lights for the night operation of the 819

    clint, id take a heavy auto over a standard any day, less wheel spin, infinitive touque multiplaction, with conveter lockup and manual shift, you have a almost unstopable trans., this is why ALL the heavy equipment makers use autos, a lot of over the road trucks use autos now, most drivers love them

    the standard issue item might have been a MUD kit, which consisted of a can of clay dirt and a can of water, in a cardboard box with 3 pages of instructions and cost the US military about $659 a peice

    i would guess a 5t xcase weights about 1000#, i plan to ues a pipe through the back window and the front like i did for the trans, if that does not work then on to plan b, c, d, ect

    Brake Drum Removal on M809 series 5 ton????

    both of mine that i took off i had to fight, the shoes were backed off, you could move the drum and axle a bit, it was just rust between the drum and the hub

    i plan to pull the floor panel and one way or another, lower it down with come-a-longs, use small snatch blocks to change cable direction if need be, make a lift fixture to bolt to where the xcase splits
