the 5t has a air shift piston in the xcase to shift the sprag from forward to reverse, this get air from a air switch on the trans, this only works in first or reverse, this is why you should always start in first after going in reverse, thw mwo uses a flip valve to shut the air off to the trans...
the rear may slip a little and not the front, if the rear does not slip a bit the front wont lock in and pull, also if you have the air switch installed per the mwo to shut off the air to the xcase, there by putting the sprag in neutral the front will not pull if the air is turned off
when i had to pull some rear drums on the 819, i had to use a 4 pound hammer and tap HARD outward all the way around for a bit to get them to come off, do not hit on the edge , hit on the drum itself at a angle outward
well it seems that my xcase went in the crap-per coming back from the ga rally, it had been making a bit of noise every now and then( never saw any metal when checking the oil), at the rally it would not go into low(still wont), coming back, started to make one he-ll of a racket with the shift...
i made some of my pins for me tb, thay look military, my tb does not have the mwo and handled the xm977 just fine, even a multi point turn around which included backing the 977 up a faily steep slope next to the road
my rear shaft is out, i had no trouble on the SS ga. rally trail ride, my front was engaged (air turned on), i did find out at the 06 SS ga. rally trail ride that if the front is turned off you can get stuck REAL easy
the idea behind taking out the rear drive shaft is to keep the two...
it is a voltage drop, old time unit, i have used this type a few times on old cats, going from 24 to 12, we also used those to run 6 volt stuff on 12 volt systems
didnt do a thing to it, need to fix the fuel in the oil thing, then install a alternator and starter, hope to do all that the next time im home.
pic was posted about a year ago, about a strange kw 8x8 on ebay
