i went out , gave the 819 a shot of eather, it started right up, had been sitting since Christmas, the temp here for the last week and still is down to the teens or lite 20s at night, love those 8Ds
speaking of gt in nam, we had a m51 with built up sides , rear encloser and a armored headack rack, on the headack rack was mounted a mini gun with the gen. in the bed, that thing could putout some awesom fire
i paid 50 for my 300#tb from heII, you dont want to ask what i have in the medium after i got all the adaptors, clamps ,ect. (when i let my m52 go it had a medium tb with all the attachments on it and i only paid 100 for everything, thay were the good days).all the legs should be staright
RE: Will the Deuce pull a 40
paint the conex box od, put some reporting marks on, no one will give a second look, if old dr could do his dr trips, this should be no big deal
i need your good 1200s, thay are HARD to get other then NEW, thats why im going to put 1400Rs singles on
wow a nice clean 819, great job, everybody needs a wrecker or two(if you have a wrecker and it breaks down, you need the second to bring it home)at least thats what you tell the wife when...
RE: Re: RE: Transfer case adj.
John,
iv seem most of the problems are not mechinal but in the air supply or valveing, just my thought. the m52 sounds like the air is shut off to the trans valves, thats how the 819 acts with the air switch thorwn, ron
my tb from heII has adaptors with 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 holes, im looking for adaptors with 1 1/2 x 1 holes.
Wayne told me the adptors he has are 1 1/2 x 2 1/4
RE: Re: RE: Transfer case adj.
Jhon, i have not heard of but a very few like one or two spraque clutches not working, the 5t unit seems to be very, very relieable, a postive in-out like the ww2 trucks would be neet but not sure its needed. at one time i thought of taking the front part of a...
i dont even worry about the ebrake on the 819, no matter how i have it adjusted ,it wont hold the 36000# truck unless im on the FLAT, two or more 6x6 blocks work for me
RE: Re: RE: Transfer case adj.
i guess that would work, dont know where you would get hubs or the house payment to pay for them, that said .id like a set, just have to sell one of the kids to pay for them
i can see why the studs broke, the extra 2 1/2 inches on those long studs, unless that block is dowaled there is nothing to keep the studs from trying to twrist no matter how tight thay are , that 2 1/2 makes a lot of leverage on those studs under a steering load, plus take into account the big...
RE: Re: RE: Transfer case adj.
no, the axles still turn the third member and the drive shaft
this mil. feild mod was so when being towed the front axle would be in free wheel
