Hey Simp,
Just admiring your pics and work on the 915. I have one question. Isnt the 870a1 a folding neck trailer? How did you get a loaded trailer on the 915 without a winch?
How did the install go? That air shift unit is bigger than the stock unit. I had to loosen the motor mounts to lift up the trans enough to get the pto in. Im just happy I got it to work!
On another note, Ive seen 939 trucks use the winch and have the transmission in drive to winch...
A deuce bed will work or you can cut down a 14ft bed from a 5 ton. Trying to find a drop side deuce bed is like looking for a pot of gold. There is a LMTV bed for sale in upstate NY, which would work as well.
I searched for months to find a PTO, could only find a new one from Chelsea - # 272XAAJP-A5RK That is an air shift unit to fit on the 6 bolt opening on the drivers side. It lists for 2200 and you need an oil fitting as well #378897
No 809 series trucks this time. I used to have an 813 and brought it to rasuch before. The 923a2 in the mud hole is me. It's by choice. Never seen any vehicle make it through there without help and it was rather dry this time!
Ive been in contact with Rausch Creek and they asked me to pass this information along:
Also we camp in Area B
The camping at the park is primitive and included with your wheeling fees.
It is located adjacent to our day parking lot. There are porta-potties,
picnic tables, and firerings...
I remember when you first posted up about your combination and now its looks like your doing well and wanted to upgrade your equipment! Its good to hear your doing well. I think there are a few questions you need to answer before you know which way to go. Long tag trailers are a pain in tight...
One week to the Rally! Finish up those last minute projects on the truck! Also if you have a CB radio, please bring it with you. Its nice to have communication between trucks while on the trail. Makes it much easier than running back 1/2 mile before you realize someone got stuck or needs a...
Another update.
Guess my posting on here and facebook has gotten around. We have atleast 10 trucks coming now, of all shapes and sizes.
Please post up if you are planning on coming and with what vehicle. I have to give a head count to Rausch the week before.
Sounds great. We will be rolling out no later than 9AM. I would plan on being there at 8AM if you need to register and sign up. We usually hit the trails between 830 and 9.
Any questions, feel free to PM me.
