Yes I plan to use high quality analog gauges. Just wasn't sure if the wire feed from a sending unit could be be split into 2 feeds to drive 2 separate gauges, of if separate sending units are required for each gauge.
I have a question for those SS members who are wiser than me. I plan to add electrical oil pressure and temperature gauges in my cab, driven by OEM sending units on the engine, however I also want to add another second set of gauges in the engine compartment for monitoring temperature and...
Here's an update. Taking my time and enjoying it immensely.
Installed a new IP driven gear. I could have purchased a used gear off Ebay, but because the P400 drive gear is new, I wanted to use a new driven gear so that the wear patterns on both gears would mature together. I sourced new...
I’ve been following this thread for a while and now feel compelled to share my opinions and experiences. I apologize in advance if any portion of this post offends anyone, because that is certainly not my intention.
I’ve been struggling with balancing large wheels and tires since building my...
Ken - here is a photo of the intake bolts I need. They are M10-1.5 and are approximately 60mm (2-1/4") under the hex head. Because the bolts are metric they will need to come from a newer GEP engine, not an older 6.2 or 6.5 when they still used SAE threaded bolts. If you have any of these, or...
Yeah I get a lot of stuff from McMaster. Sadly they do not have the stud bolts. Still looking. I think I am going over to the HMMWV forum and post something over there. Maybe somebody is parting out a GEP engine and I can get the metric bolts.
Yes, the valve cover threads are M8-1.25, but I need some M10-1.5 in various lengths to bolt down the intake I got from you. Not wanting to scavenge anything off my original 6.2. Somebody has them available, but I cannot find them anywhere. Heck I don't even know what they are called.
Does anybody know what these bolts are called and where to source them? I've always called them continuous thread bolts but a Google search with that name comes up empty. I need new ones to bolt the intake onto my P400.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
As many of you know, I am assembling a new GEP P400 6.5 engine for my M1028.
I need a new 24-volt starter for this engine, and cannot bring myself to purchase cheap Chinese junk or something from Summit.
Does anybody know how to obtain a new starter directly from GEP?
P.S. - please do not try...
Dang I hate to hear that. Do you think those defective Harland Sharp rockers were the culprit? If so you may have some recourse for recovery. Let me know if I can assist in any way.
Here's an update. Got the DB2891-4911 injection pump installed; got the new 6.5 injectors and injector lines installed; got the HMMWV crossover water thing installed; got the rear coolant plates installed; got the 700R4 TV bracket installed with rod to make sure everything cleared. Having...
