The MEP-831 goes to the track

Chris, On the third weekend in April, there is a huge BGE get together at Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury, NC - it's called Butt Blast. All jokes aside, you really should try and attend. You will meet some amazing characters, and eat some even more amazing food. Most of the real shenanigans...

    A3816 Frustration

Went out to start the set for monthly run, noticed evidence of fuel leakage on the ground. I’ve replaced the wellnut twice since buying the set, and am tired of screwing around with this obvious design flaw. Awhile back I came across a thread about a permanent repair, but can’t find it now...

    MEP-803 Starting Issues

I keep a NoCo Genius 7200 on it at all times, I just disconnect prior to starting. I will check voltage of the batteries after I shut it down and report back.

    MEP-803 Starting Issues

So my 803 typically starts with no issues. Today I went out to start for monthly run prior to the high winds and heavy rains that are coming this way. Fuel pump clicked away in prime and run. After 30 seconds I went to start and nothing. No clicks, no noise, nothing. It happily cranked away...

Question On Inova Remote Start vs Inova ATS Controller

So I have been doing some research into these products as I work rotating shifts and my wife isn't keen on going outside in the middle of a storm to manually start the generator. If I want to go with the ATS controller, do I still need the remote start controller? I have downloaded the remote...

    MEP-803A Starting kVa capacity

The older MEP-004 is a 15 KW unit with a 12-wine generator head. As such it can be rewired into low zigzag mode to give you a balanced single phase output. Search for Sewerzuk’s post on here for info on how to perform the mod.

    Winter Storm Preps

I am loving the Arctic heater, just keeps chugging along keeping the beast ready to go:

    MEP802A & MEP803A winterization kits

I picked mine up from Fort Drum back in 2015, and it had the block heater installed. Drum is the home of the 10th Mountain Division, I assume that’s why it had the mod.

    Winter Storm Preps

Well the block heater is firing away cycling on its thermostat maintaining the coolant around 180 F. Gotta love military technology and its general reliability.

    Winter Storm Preps

Well I put 4 oz of Red and the same of white into the tank. Let the fuel pump run for 5 minutes then fired it up - no issues. Didn’t bother changing the fuel filter - now have it as a spare. Waiting for the coolant temp to come down some then I will fire up the block heater - that way I can...

    MEP802A & MEP803A winterization kits

If this is the arctic block heater mod, I don’t know where to get them. But mine came with one and works great to keep the coolant warm, burns around 0.1 gph.

    Winter Storm Preps

Just found an 80 oz of the white winterizer/anti-gel.

    Winter Storm Preps

So I can’t find any Anti-gel/Cetane boost. But they do have Diesel Kleen/Cetane boost. Worth it or no?

    Winter Storm Preps

Found a 32 oz of Diesel 911 so I at least have that. Will replace the fuel filter also and then run the fuel pump for 5 minutes prior to starting the set.

    Winter Storm Preps

Will look in the tank when I get home. Pulled a bonehead move yesterday and added windshield washer de-iced fluid to the radiator overflow bottle. Currently at the dealer getting a flush and fill, too cold to be laying on the ground in my driveway. Ya can’t fix stupid.
