Ever find anything interesting hiding in your CUCV?

One of those dollar coins the US introduced and never really caught on. I consider it a lucky coin for the vehicle. I also found a bunch of receipts for explosives. Mine came from an EOD unit in the Florida National Guard.

    Door Handle Lever Printed (LMTV)

Would making this thing beefier be an option? I have a sheet laser I could cut this out with. However, to compensate for the bend and some of the holes, it would be a good bit thicker than what I see above. The advantage to that is it would be much stronger. I could cut it out of thick...

GM Spin On Fuel Filter Conversion

What did you do with the line that came into the bottom of the old filter?

GM Spin On Fuel Filter Conversion

Where do I connect the fuel hose that was on the bottom of the old filter to? Or do I just cap it off? I was under the impression that was the fuel line from the tank but after reading this write up I’m wondering if I’m wrong about that and no longer need it. Thanks in advance.

Tons of M1009s in the movie Buffalo Soldiers...

I saw it when I was in the Army. I think they actually had a good military advisor on the film. I did think it was pretty dark which is why it didn't ever make it to the theaters. Bad timing with 9/11 and it didn't present the US Army in a good light at all.

    Anyone Running Smittybilts?

I have a set and while I like the fit and how they cover the seats I do have one serious problem with them. THEY FADE VERY FAST. For a seat cover that is supposed to be designed for vehicles that are convertible you would think they would keep their color. Keep them out of the sun.

I have the factory one. Or at least it looks factory. Haven't found anyone to confirm if it was or wasn't. Have a lead on a second one and I'm going to get it for my Suburban. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/64036-rear-tire-carrier-installed-my-m1009.html

    M1031 On a 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4

It does look pretty good. Have found a few beds but they are so far away the cost of going to get it would greatly affect the price.

Sorry for the typos. I typed it up on my phone and meant to say MEP-002A. So two 5KW units.

    Running a MEP-005a in a Shed

Running a MEP-002A in a Shed I have two MEP-002A gensets that I would like to use as back-up power for my house. Currently they just sit outside with tarps covering them on concrete pads. A buddy of mine has a shed that's about 12' X 10' that he said he would like to just give me since he is...

    M1031 On a 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4

So I recently bought a used Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 quad cab with the 5.9 Cummins and NV4500 transmission. The last owner was an older gentleman who drove the truck very easy. It does, however, have a lot of dents on the bed. I was looking at beds but didnt really want another regular bed on there as...

    Interior Bling!

Is the hole on the bottom of the grenade threaded at all? If so you can get an insert to go from the thread size on the bottom of the grenade to 7/16".

A couple questions about lifting and single-cab conv.

I also would not do blocks up front. Truth be told I'm not that big of a fan of blocks on the rear axle either. On some vehicles it is needed though for so much lift. My Dodge 2500 4X4 is a good example of a truck that would just ride too rough with a solid spring pack on the rear.

    Topper bolts

OK I pulled off one of the bolts today and took it to the shop to size it. The bolts are body bolts and the size is 5/16-18 x 1. 5/16-18 x 1" Phosphate He x Head SEMS Body Bolt | Fastenal Now I just grabbed a hex head bolt and matched the washer that was on the factory bolt to a 5/16" x...

    Topper bolts

Fastenal can blow McMaster Carr out of the water on price. In fact a lot of the bolts on our MV trucks came from us. We are the main fastener supplier for Stuart and Stevenson and down at my location BAE is starting to buy more and more fasteners from us for their trucks. If you guys ever have...
