Trans input shaft
Will,
I'm not sure what the trans input shaft size is. I'm kind of going into this project blindfolded. I'm looking into some parts manuals.
Andy
thanks
Thanks for the compliments. I think the Dodge did a sigh of relief when the motor was taken out last night. The Cadillac ride is gone.....
Chris-Thank you for the advice and I look forward to hearing from you on where to purchase a clutch alignment tool. I do not have a service...
The truck is a 1977 M812 by the way
The truck is a 1977 M812 that we are swapping engines in. I'll include a picture of the truck delivery from last year since I have finally figured out how to post pictures.
ok, third attempt to post this time with a picture
I finally got back from my 1,300 mile trip of picking up the new NHC 250 from North Carolina. The old Dodge Diesel dually did just fine with the weight of the engine and container in the bed and averaged 17.6mpg for the trip. I didn't shift...
I'll try this again as my original post did not show up from this morning.
On my M812 bridge truck equipped with the 5spd manual trans there is an assy. on the passenger side of the upper part of the trans which makes a hissing noise when the trans is shifted into reverse. The vent tube is...
thanks
Kenny,
Thanks for the information. I agree with you on that this wouldn't be the ideal situation for a panic stop. I do have a crew cab but I don't need a backseat or worse yet frontseat NHC 250 buddy. The tie downs Dodge provides in the bed are just bolted to the sheet metal so...
I'm picking up a Cummins NHC 250 this next week which is in the military steel crate. My question is how much will this weigh? I'm guessing 3,000lbs with the crate??
Also how big is the shipping container for bottom dimensions? Will this fit in the bed of my Dually 3500 Dodge long bed...
Where is the brake light switch located on the M812 Bridge Truck? I noticed something on the air line with two wires near the master cylinder.
My turnsignals are not working and I noticed that Saturn Surplus has this for sale under M35 parts.

We had an air leak coming from the transmission gaskets located on top of the trans on the passenger side. We replaced the small gaskets which stopped that leak but now the vent between the two gaskets is always blowing air unless the tranny is in reverse. Is this normal? It's not enought air...
I noticed one of my steering knuckle boots is starting to get a small crack. Where is the best place to purchase a new boot? My main concern purchasing from a place that has boots thats are fresh and not old rubber. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
Andy
We are finishing up the main and rod bearing project finally and will be installing a different oil pump this weekend. Is there a way to prime the lube system to help with a dry start? I plan on taking the drain plug out of the oil filter housing and positioning it on the upper side so I can...
I'm looking for a pair of new fenders for my M812 Bridge Truck. The ones that I have on the truck are not that bad but need a few small patches in the front of the fender lip where mud/salt collects. I would prefer to just go with new fenders if they are available. Who has them and how much...
Could someone pop their hood on their 5 ton with a NHC 250 Cummins and take me a quick picture of the oil lines coming out of the oil pump. I had new ones made up but it's been long enough I forgot where they go.
