Hello all, its been awhile since i posted on here. I have been on GL alot waiting for a good candidate to come along that's some what close to my house and i found a few m1008's and one m1009. The m1009 is on craigs list and it says it needs a new fuel pump and a few odds and ends. The price is...

Best rust solutions? Rustoleum, spray converter + paint?

Re: RE: Best rust solutions? Rustoleum, spray converter + p POR-15 wont flake if applied correctly. It is meant to be used on really rusty parts. Minor surface rust and parts that are almost clean the paint will not adhere properly. I used por-15 on a few of my old hot rods and it held up...

Alfa Heaven just put up a Sweet M1009

I like their trucks. He must pressure wash the sh@t out of them. All the trucks i have seen him sell have less then 60k on them. Not a bad price considering the work that was done to it. Just look on GL and compare prices. Some yo, yo's spend 3k for a beat up rusted out m1009 with a junk motor...

Lots of Military Vehicles on GSA site in MO - ends Jan 15th

hmm..perhaps we could make a sub section to a forum where we can post our needs? I mean other then the classifieds section. Like a GL specific part where you have to be a confirmed member for 30 days or more before you can view this sub section. Just a thought.

    oil mixed with alcohol

Re: RE: oil mixed with alcohol Yes that is true. The alcohol will burn off but you will want to worry about the viscosity of your oil. Will it be thick enough to protect the motor? Lets say you add 10 quarts of the stuff will you be left with 7 once the alcohol burns off? See what i am saying...

Lots of Military Vehicles on GSA site in MO - ends Jan 15th

I dont see what the big deal is. This is a community here correct? If you cant afford it and just want to keep it to your self in the hopes that one day 5 years from now you might be able to afford it is selfish. I have no problem if someone calls dibs on an item on GL. As long as its going to...

thank you for the replies i appreciate the input. The one i am bidding on says "operational" so i am going to give that a shot first. I am just hoping that there arent too many people interested in it. Builder77 that is more along my idea of pricing. Thats what i am hoping to spend on the...

    Hey guys/gals newb here

Sorry for the confusion. As for my goal and condition of the m1009 i wish to purchase. 1.) Operational or not far from it 2.) If operational would prefer a somewhat complete interior to drive it home IE, do not want to be guessing my MPH with no dash or speedo and sitting on a milk crate. 3.)...

    Hey guys/gals newb here

Wow, i was watching this truck on GL and cant believe the price it went for http://cgi.govliquidation.com/auction/view?auctionId=1085464 2600 bucks for a truck with no dash or instrumentation and the truck obviously does not run. Phew..maybe i wont find one in my budget range. I have seen some...

    General Motors Defense projects

Thank you for your service and dedication. As many stated above the vehicle is 39k dollars worth of fiberglass and sheet metal. Its nothing but a civi silverado with off road rims and brush guard. I would hate to see what any type of explosive round would do to that truck. At least the m1009...

    Hey guys/gals newb here

thanks again for the welcome and the info. Yes I am aware that the interior is very spartan. The one I am looking at on GL right now has a few bad rust spots but the interior is complete including spare and jack. The only bad part is that the floors a swiss cheese and the wheel wells are...

    Hey guys/gals newb here

Thanks for the welcome and the info. As far as the title goes yes i did look online at GL and it just stated that you have to present a 9jsf (sp?) form and have it filled out by a registrar? Other then that it wasnt too specific. I do not think i can register a vehicle in this state without a...
