What did you do to your deuce this week?

Just got back from Elk hunting, drove a lil over 300 miles round trip with a 2000 ft vertical climb between destinations. Deuce performed flawlessly right down to the 17 deg coldstart on the way home. I didn't cross any scales, but estimate to have been rolling about 20-21K with the Jeep and...

Just boguht my first deuce, what can you tell me about it?

Im a noob myself, I may have misguided you, the two turbos shown in my previous post are installed in an LDT-465, I am unfamiliar with the LDS installations. -jeep

Just boguht my first deuce, what can you tell me about it?

dikwks is right, I got mine almost a year ago. I had a perma-grin on the 200 mile recovery. This is the most precious thing I own, I love this truck. Huge, amazingly useful for hauling all sorts of whatever you got! (as long as you have patience, they aint fast! :D ) I swapped my D turbo out...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I have a spare D turbo on the shelf because I was not able to talk myself out of it. It is still on the shelf with no danger of leaving. Next to a Merlin engine, it is one of my favorite sounds. (earplugs required :) )

I got a KNUCKLE BOOM !! Need mesurments

Here is where the moment comes in, Something tells me that crane will be able to lift 8K at a distance far greater than mine.!! Mine is a HIAB 173 speedloader and doesn't have near the reach as yours. My load rating is at roughly 8 feet from centerline at the most inboard attachemnt, and...

I got a KNUCKLE BOOM !! Need mesurments

"Too big.." I don't understand  I am certain that it is not too small! My assessment would be this: Physically it will fit, and be below max height (right...!) which is 13'6" here in the PNW, not sure if local municipalities have tighter regs due to local road infrastructure...

    5-ton power steering pump

pump gear and adapter housing TNJ Murray also has gears and housing adapters that you can bolt the vickers pump to, I believe it is a standard bolt flange. As far as the pump specification I can not confirm. but you might look here , it is a great thread for a power steering conversion on the...

My First, '66 M35A2, Work In Progress Build Thread

Thanks Zy, that is a good recomendation. I put 60 in the front the other evening and ran around the block, it took the death wobble out of it (at 35), but I would like to get them balanced to the point where I can air them down so they will maintain even treadwear. Gringeltaube has, in an...

My First, '66 M35A2, Work In Progress Build Thread

Singled Out ok I got the Super Singles on the truck this weekend. I have not yet balanced them and they have a pretty good shimmy at about 34 or so so I haven't pushed it any faster than that. I have tried different tire pressures as a quick fix, but I don't want to run 60 psi in them as it...

    Deuce Loading Ramps?

A Comprimise Ultimatly i intend to solve this issue with a knuckle-boom crane and lifting points permanantly mounted on my Jeep, for the meantime I have attacked the problem from a middleground. 12 foot long ramps are more than I want to deal with. I have a pair of 6 foot ramps that started...

My First, '66 M35A2, Work In Progress Build Thread

More wheel work Thanks Jim, she is getting there, I am really interested to see yours when you get her out of the shop! I got the remaining 4 HEMTT wheels cut up. The rotary table cutting fixture really made this easy. I still have to dismount the stock tires from the last 4 donor wheels so...

I got a KNUCKLE BOOM !! Need mesurments

I am interested too in how you will be reinforcing your frame, I have a HIAB 173 crane that I will be mounting in front of my box (just shoving the box rearward 14 inches to allow the crane to fit). I was planning on sleeving the frame with an insert, but haven't considered fishplating the...

HEMTT wheel build My back hates me.... these things arn't to bad to move..once, but you get to loading em on and off a cutting fixture, rolling them around with tires on em and flipping them over to weld and grind and it flat wears a guy out! course it doesn't help that the darn wheels alone...

My M35A2 Project aka Big Betty

+20 starting/ below 20 starting And now for some information that isn't riddled with incorrect details :) I reread the TM regarding Multifuel Operation, start delay between cranking for +20 deg F starts is recommended 2 MIN, not 1 min as I had mentioned earlier, though I have had no issues...

My M35A2 Project aka Big Betty

I had the same issue, turns out it was just me! I am not sure how familiar you are with the multifuel engine, but they don't operate like a modern diesel. I did some reading, inlcuding the operators manual which roughly illuded to short crank times and long waiting before re-cranking. This...
