    Stuck high idle?

Lubed the shit out of the foot pedal, and it came up another inch. Thanks friends. Adrianspeeder

    Stuck high idle?

Thanks friend, but this truck doesn’t have a engine stop cable. There is a fuel cutoff switch. Is the rest the same? Adrianspeeder

    Stuck high idle?

Resurrected this shit spreader modified unit to running, but at startup she winds up to 1600 rpm. Both the hand throttle and foot pedal only control from 1600 rpm to redline. It won't wind down to an idle even after at operating temp, and that makes parking interesting. Adrianspeeder

    Picked up another one.

Ironhorse and I fired up my stroker and picked up a deal of a donor rig. M1009 Blazer Donor - YouTube Found a four year old slip from a seal being ordered for the Schenectady ANG. Explains the rust pretty good. Adrianspeeder

    530B for Me

We have to instal the engine covers before towing an aircraft into hangars equipped with foam fire suppression. Apparently it is some nasty corrosive stuff. Adrianspeeder

Oshkosh Snow plow W/ frozen motor

I like that IL76 in the backround. You are most correct about the coldest weather you can imagine. It did not make my second deployment fun. Never got to play with snow plows as the Russians took care of that for us, but did get some fun with CE's snow broom. Guy said it has a 500horse Cat...

    The 5-Ton HMTT is home!

Freakin' cool! Always interesting to me when pulling parts off of aircraft that have SNs of 0000001. Adrianspeeder

    530B for Me

Don't ya hate it when ya gotta work on one truck to work on another truck? Oh well, first world steel soldiers problems... Cleanin' out the fuel filter bowl with about a half pound of rust got the wrecker actually able to rev up. This was important because lifting a flat spare tire off of a...

    A BRAND NEW M1010 for $14k?!?!?!

War Ready Materials right thur for sure. In my travels around the world now I've seen lots and lots of brand new everythings just sitting and waiting. Middle of the desert I stopped and saw a chainlinked area on a base with i'd guess 500 trucks, 100 of mainenance stands, generators, connexs...

    New 6.2 power plant

While I'll love my 7.3L forever, the 6.4L is one hotrod of a motor ten times better than the 6.uhoh. Which also got an unfair wrap in my opinion. I did think about trading my 6.4L truck for a new 6.7L, but they are all now automatic, and nothin' is better than a bolt action diesel. Adrianspeeder

    Oh my god.....wife posted this

I just bought Heather Mae a new puppy, and I got to get two more Fords. So it's give and take. She won't ride in a camo truck though, so I'm safe to cruze around in the 1009. Adrianspeeder

    C-5 Galaxy

I've dropped a Dewalt rechargeable drill type flashlight from a 17 Ttail. Thing exploded into 13 pieces, but we were able to put it back together if you held it right. Funny turnin' it back in and when the CTK guy picked it up, having it fall apart. So will, yer a metals tech guy? I got some...

    C-5 Galaxy

Wash rack. CE had a leaky fire sprinkler pipe that had been dripping for quite some time as the rust spot on the floor was pretty big. But who cares, it's the wash rack. Anyway there was a change of command, and some genious's idea to hold it in the wash rack with the stage right under the...

    C-5 Galaxy

I'll reserve some of my comments about fat freddy, but will say she does make ya earn your paycheck in maintenance. Part of the lucky list that moved to C-17's at Dover and it's amazing the differences in the airframe. Only problem is Fred keeps following me around on my deployments and...
