Easy way to tell an M101a2 fron M101a3???

Ok first off I am surprised no one else has said this already.... you have two trailers with the CBC... lucky you. I have not been able to find even one with the CBC and yet you have two.   Although I believe the box on the last trailer(darker one) is an A1 box since...

Source for M101A1 data plates - other than Dave Kelone

I have been trying for months to get ahold of Dave(MVDATAPLATES) with no luck as well. I can drill out the rivets on mine and maybe send to them to use as a template. At the very least I can take pictures with a ruler along side for scale.

    Soon to own M101 A2

Well the chasis modifications are complete and I pulled it home last night. My neighbor got home at the same time and helped me lift the box onto the chasis. I still need to modify the box however for now it will work as I build funds and develop my plans for the rest of the build. The box will...

    Bought an M931...now what?

Take some fresh diesel and a 10mm wrench. Even with daily use overseas I sometimes had to bleed the injector of air. On top of the injector pump you will see a 10mm bolt, turn slightly and you will hear air escaping, close and try to start again. Also there is a solenoid for the emergency...

    Soon to own M101 A2

I had to wait an hour after work for the UPS guy to show up with the safety chains and a few other supplies to take to the shop the other day. The loops should be welded on with safety Cables mounted by now.

Axle= 3500# Dexter with 3" tube(should have stuck with 2 3/8") 10x2.25" Electric brakes, 6x5.5 lug pattern with the parking brake feature. The parking brake feature added another $90 or $100 to cost of axle but to me it was worth it. $380 total for axle and 10 day build time, which didnt matter...

    Soon to own M101 A2

It might end up with the tongue slightly lower than the back of the trailer. I put a level on it and it measures about 2" higher than my trailer mount. Now this is without the weight of the bed or actually being hooked up to the truck. I did increase the tire size so that I am running the same...

    Soon to own M101 A2

So while I was at work the great crew at Outdoor Logic welded in the gussets, mounted the axle and even made lower shock mounts. So the trailer is on its wheels and almost ready to be towed again as the base chasis. I will be working on wiring it next.

    Soon to own M101 A2

Mark, It should still ride nice and level with the new tongue. If you look closely the Hydraulic actuator/lunette assembly is above the tongue and inline with the main box frame originally. The enw tongue I am building is inline with the frame and should put my new coupler at same height as...

    Soon to own M101 A2

Well I finally got around to working on the new tongue. Here are the pictures so far of progress made today. I am hoping to go in to the shop tomorrow after work and finish the welds, and flip the trailer over and put the axle on. Hole through front crossmember Doubler plate and reciever tube...

    Help identifying a trailer

GI Joe thank you for the reply. It does appear to be that trailer and after researching it from your information it will not meet my needs. However if I did have some acreage I would pick it up as a hay wagon or utility wagon around the property.

    Help identifying a trailer

They pull just like a trailer on a transfer truck(dump) or the second trailer of a doubles set-up. As mentioned I pulled one of these with a very short tongue which made it more exciting when trying to back up behind a Class B straight truck. I got to the point that I could back around corners...

    Help identifying a trailer

I am wondering if anyone can tell me information on this trailer. It looks like it is set up to carry two AF pallets or other cargo. My questions are as follows: 1. Model number and Nomenclature? 2. Is it designed to be pulled at highway speeds? 3. Any other information that can be provided...

    M101A2 Lugs & Brakes

The outer set of bolts is to seperate the two rim halves. The HMMWV rim is a two piece bolt together and locks the bead on the outside. As mentioned you will need a new o-ring if you take your rims apart to change tires. Also the HMMWV rims are a 16.5 and can be hard to find tires for in other...

    M101A3 bed length issue

Mark- I beleive we were thinking the same thing. Remove the part that goes through the cross member adding a washer or spacer and then reinstall. Now the hinge mounting point is 1/8 or more out allowing the cargo to fit.

    M101A2 Lugs & Brakes

Yes the HMMWV tires are run flat tires. Very Nice score.
