    M1009 towing M101A2 trailer

I'm about to do same tire swap on my M101A2. I recently downsized my tow vehicle, and I needed new trailer tires anyway. That 245/75R16 tire size was the stock GM 3/4Ton truck tire size from factory on many trucks from early 2000s so they are usually easy to find in a E load range and not too...

What to look for in a CUCV

    1. I bought mine out of the Tarrant truck repair center in Ft worth. Great folks to deal with. But GL is an auction so it just depends on who is bidding and how bad they want something. Also the number of trucks for sale at the same time in same place can help keep prices lower in my...

What to look for in a CUCV

I got semi-lucky. I bought one from GL for $600. Description said it didn't run and had fluids drained. Pictures showed it on 2 flats and It was missing passenger door. When I picked it did have fluids (clean, topped off and 1/2 tank of diesel) but didn't run. Hauled it home, put 2...

    Marker Light issue

it wasn't in a CUCV, but in a Scout I have. Same GM style light switch. It acted like it had a circuit breaker that tripped. you could turn it off and back on and it was fine. I had to replace the switch and it stopped.

Made my own 12 pin to blade adapter

I did double check the cucv trailer voltage. It is 12 volts. Here is another pic with the collar installed. I should put a longer PVC piece So it will but against the cucv receptacle and the RV mount plate for max support. Maybe on the next version.

Made my own 12 pin to blade adapter

I'm a dummy. I tested it using my civvy truck and my other even to 12 pin adaptor. It was raining and the 09 was at the back of the lot. I will confirm the cucv voltage. I forgot about the 24 volt at the trailer harness. Well, seemed like A good idea at the time!

Made my own 12 pin to blade adapter

I built this to allow me to hookup the lights to pull my civvy trailer with the M1009. I have an M101 I already converted over to RV plug because at the time I didnt intend to buy a CuCV. It is an RV recepticle cut off at the rear in order to accept the rubber ring out of a 12 pin trailer...

    battery guage question

Yes, fits just fine. the gauge comes with a "U" shaped mount bracket, you just have to turn it the right way to clear the gauge light holder. I purchased it from egauges.com, the part number is 332-902

    battery guage question

I used the factory gauge wires, even the existing lightbulb holder snapped in place. unbolted the wires from the studs on old gauge , moved them to the new one, mounted it and then good to go!. no resistor needed, the resistor is neeeded on the old gauge to bring the 24 volts from the feed...

I just ordered this one. Stock gauge resistor burnt out. Gauge still works but I chose to go with a 24 volt replacement.

    Service light /black-out light decals

I know this thread is 6 ears old, but I searched and this is the only post I could find that was related. I searched many combinations of words, but I'm sure I missed the magic word to find what I need. Is there a source for this sticker out there any where? I thought it was painted on, so...

New guy here, thinking of buying a CUCV

If you bought from Saginaw, I think I actually got the cheapest one in the lot. I bought the one with the PS door removed. I recovered it on Tuesday. Even thought it said all fluids drained in the auction write up, mine had all fluids, and they looked pretty good. Tires looked good in the...

    M1009 width tire to tire

I just left from there, no car trailers available at any location in town and the tow dollies arent wide enough. But I did find a co-worker's dad that has an 18 ft trailer he uses to retrieve CUCVs and other green iron. All is going to be well. I'll post picks of the thing when I get it home.
