    what's a decent m1008 worth?

I already went the civvy truck route. The F350 and 7.3L powerstroke works great, and is a lot newer. I was thinking about picking up another diesel pickup and the m1008 is heavy-duty enough to work hard. I realize they are cool artifacts, but not worth their money for what I need. It...

    Topless M35A3

Looks nice Pete. It has been warm, and today is more of the same I imagine. Great day for going topless!

    what's a decent m1008 worth?

If that's really what these are going for, I'll go ahead and get a multifuel M35a2 for about the same money. Even if it needs work, I will end up with much more truck. A cheaper m1008 would take some cash to make right anyway.

    what's a decent m1008 worth?

I see these for sale occasionally, but the prices seem high. I know of a 1986 m1008 they want $4250 for, and I found an '84 m1009 for $5900. Is this realistic? I'm not interested in the m1009, but the prices are much more than I thought they would be. Is it just that these are drying up?

can you get a rolling HMMWV chassis?

Well, the goal isn't to have a hummer, either by building it piece by piece or by buying a civvy unit. I was looking for the chassis and drivetrain for a separate project. Even if I were to find a commercial H1 with the diesel engine, I'd still have to get rid of the body. Maybe I'd use the...

can you get a rolling HMMWV chassis?

Thanks guys. I'm still in the planning/pondering phase of the project. At least I know that these are out there and have some idea what one would cost.

can you get a rolling HMMWV chassis?

Complete HMMWVs are hard to find, and expensive. Has anyone ever seen a rolling chassis come up for sale? All I would really need is the frame, suspension, and the full drivetrain from the transfer case down to the wheels/hubs. I can source or fit an engine and transmission. I don't want or...

    Bed crane designs...

I was looking at one like this until I saw how much they are new: Truck-Mounted Knuckle Krane I can't find anything like this used. It folds up nicely and has all the capacity I would need, plus it's long enough to reach all four corners of the truck if you mount it at the front center of the...

    Chinese 6x6 Truck

My new M220 soon to be camper

That looks really great. I'm trying to determine whether to build a camper from a deuce or a 5-ton myself. This just adds to the dilemma!

    Parking Brake - Air

I didn't see where the OP said anything about service brakes in the first post. Air bleed off, whether by switch or by accident, enables the parking brake. Applying air pressure releases the parking brake.

    Deuce Vs Russian Counterpart

I wonder if he's talking about the Tatra trucks? They are Czech, tho. TATRA IS THE SOLUTION They've been around a long time, and make everything from 4x4 through 12x12 trucks.
