Hey Guys, Just wanted to give a little thanks to the site. First off just to let everyone know, I have very few mechanical skills, and when both my alternator belts broke last week I thought there was going to be another trip to the mechanic shop. But, after a little time reading throught...
Man! Diesel prices getting a little out of control around here as well. Saturday I tanked up at $4.78 a gallon. It cost nearly $100.00 for a full tank, and that's the low sulphur cr$$. I had to buy some addative as well. I'm not going to do a swap or anything like that, but sure does get...
RE: Pics of my rig new here
Welcome aboard. Cool looking rig! Thanks for the pics. Hows' the steering and ride with the 8 inch lift? Post more pics as you continue you modss
Pulling the dash wasn't really an issue. There was't really anything holding it on. I gues the military must have taken it out before and took a short cut putting it back in. One of the Problems I have now is trying to get the frt clips screwd down in their orginal positions to keep it from...
It does play. It sounds OK for now. I just have the four 3.5inch Pioneer dash speakers for now. I will need to add some larger speakers either in the doors or in the back for a fuller sound. It's all "highs" for right now. I just have a antenna hooked up inside the dash for now and will...
Sorry It has been so long. I've been out of town for a while w/ no time to play. Heres some pics of the second phase of my Stereo install and interior updates. I still have more wok to do. Once again, PENDING Time and Money!!
The local Uhaul store would not rent a trailor to me to haul my m1009. They said it weighed too much for the trailor and was a liability. I made the 60 mi trip w/ a 1996 chevy 3/4 tone truck and a dual axle utility trailor with hydraulic brakes. I was luck enough that the m1009 started...
I know installing aftermarket exhaust headers and a cat back system on a gas v8 like a chevy 350, makes a significant difference in performance and mileage. I don't know very much about the 6.2's in the m1009's. Is it evern worth the time, effort and expence of a set of headers on this type...
Now that is running pretty good for now, I have the opportunity to have a little fun. I"m in the process of a very basic stero install. Plans include: pioneer cd player, some pioneer dash speakers and possible some alpine 61/2 door speakers. All the equipment is left overs from my college...
My brother helped put the new helicoil in yesterday. We were able to have the stater repaired at the same rebuilder. All installed w/ the front support bracket. As of right now, eveything is starting good. I'll just recheck the tourqe on the bolts after I run it for a while. After...
Ok! So I went to chech the starter bolts and retourque if necessary. The bolt closest to the oil pan was a little loose. I tightened it, and she started great. Unfortunately, she would not restart after being turned off. I again went and checked the bolts and the same bolt was loose. I...
I Finally recieved my oem starter from the local rebuilder. I installed it on Saturday Morning. She started right up and ran very good all day. I ran some errand around town, turning off and restarting about 5-6 times with no problems. Woke up Sunday and tried to start and the firts noise...
I had asked the guy at Autozone for a 24v. He advised that the one he had in stock was the only one he could provide for my application. Don't have too much confidence in his awareness of 12 v. 24 vold applications.
Guess I should have done more research, especially with you guys. The autozone reman starter only lasted about three weeks, I brought my orginal to a local rebuilder. I have been waiting for a little over a week. Hopefull this rebuild will be a better ticket than the reman crap. Sounded...
cr99: your tint looks really cool. All the rear windows would fly around here, but the fronts would be a little too dark. We have to have 40% visability out of the front. Any trouble see at night? Did you have to remove any paint from rear window mouldings? If so, what did you use? And...
Before I posted, I used the search function on this site and searched for "m1009 rear seat removal", "rear seat removal", "seat removal" and several others. Sorry if some of these post aggravate the tenured members.
