It runs great. I got all the parts put back in it and got the exhaust and trans all sealed up and it runs...

    My 1988 HMMWV

on my 6.2 I had white smoke after I re did the head gaskets, turns out i spilled coolant down the exhaust. what does the exhaust smell like? if its sweet smelling and white , its coolant, if its gray white and smells bitter sweet ish, its probably unburnt fuel. if it turns black when you romp...

UPDATE!!! ok after another month of trying to figure it out, I took it apart again. the miss was caused by a bent pushrod. SO with that mystery solved, im going to take another crack at this. I guess I didn't seat the pushrod very well when I installed it. oops. but anyway. I solved my fuel...

    fuel system issues.

OK I am officially pissed off and frustrated! i had to wait 2 weeks for enough money to buy the **** injector tool. Then i had to wait over a week for it to get here. i got it yesterday and greedily yanked out the injectors, took them to work, bench tested them and i was right i had one leaking...

My 1028 is down can I get some advice PLEASE oh please all knowing one

when my vrv went out it stayed in second and wouldent go either way. if you really need it working, connect the two lines that go into the VRV directly together, that should give you 3rd all the time. but dont pull any steep hills. i adjusted my vrv so it shifts fairly soft. i didnt like it to...

My 1028 is down can I get some advice PLEASE oh please all knowing one

ok so its staying in first and not going to second or third. the little thing on the side of the transmission is a shift modulator. the things on the injection pump is the vacuum regulator valve. inside that "vrv" is a spring. as you push on the throttle it opens the valve. so as you let off, it...

    fuel system issues.

Well after consulting the guys at work and fiddling with it tonight, I think I have a clogged injector or two. I didn't cap them when I pulled the heads off and cleaned the old gasket crap off. From what I can tell the #3 and #7 are worse than #1 and #5. Since its one side and not both sides it...

    fuel system issues.

alright, yesterday i got may passenger side head removed, cleaned, and back on with a new head gasket. from the looks of the gasket, i was mere miles from it going legs up. 3 of the 4 cylinders were carbon scored and the gasket was looking bad. so i think it was a lack of compression. when it...

    fuel system issues.

No I haven't but I'm still working on it. My head gaskets were leaking out the back so I'm in the middle of replacing them. So far I can tell that my #3 cylinder was the one misfiring on the drivers side. There was a lot of carbon build up around the exhaust valve. So since I'm doing head...

    fuel system issues.

So after much conversing with coworkers we narrowed the problem down to air in the lines.... we think. I came home today determined to figure out what was going on. I took the air cleaner off and started following the fuel lines from the lift pump to the injector pump. Tightening everything as...

    fuel system issues.

I changed the lift pump again suspecting that there might be a bad check valve on it. No luck. I put a secondary check valve between the lift pump and the filter. No luck. So now it comes down to the rubber return lines. They are old and need to be replaced anyway. Then I will check the tank...

    antennas and mounts.

I have no clue where to post this so sorry. I'm looking for a hummer style whip mount with whip. I don't need authentic but similar would be nice. I can make the bracket but I would like to have a similar antenna. What's the army use or what did they use on the Cucv and where can I get one?

    Fuel Delivery Issues, Part 3

I hear that! Mines held together macgyver style! Duct tape, bailing wire, and a ball point pen. U think the fuel lines are hard? Try having to recreate the throttle cable at 2am in a 24hr Lowes parking lot with a leather man and a dead flashlight.
