    Greetings From Central Florida

Welcome from MacDill. :) What city are you in? If you're not too far from Dade City there's a SS rally/trail ride coming up the first weekend of November. Don't even need to have an MV to come out either.

South Ga/Florida, to North, Ga. or beyond.

Sometime in about 5 to 7 weeks (don't know when for sure and won't know till after the wife gets back from her current TDY) I will be taking I-75 from Tampa up to TN with an empty van. If you haven't found anyone to help you by then let me know (just don't tell the mods as they think I'm only on...

5 Ton CDL Inquiry Fun In Utah

First off welcome to SteelSoldiers. Second, welcome to the world of big toys and all the b.s. that comes with them. :) I know what you mean when it comes to getting a straight answer about CDL requirements out of the folks at DMV. I've been playing that game for over 15 years now. When I first...

Sold a 1031, titling issues with new buyer, need advise.

And that's what it sounds like Shark is trying to do. It's nice to see that there are at least a few people left these days that are willing to put their integrity first at the cost of a few bucks instead of telling to buyer to flip off. If that doesn't deserve some positive rep points I don't...

    Michigan M923/925 Owners Question

While most state level CDL manuals are written in a way that implies you are commercial by the mere fact that you are reading it I have to give Michigan credit as they actually included comments about personal use in it. Under exemptions (on page vi) is the following: INDIVIDUALS: Operating...

Sold a 1031, titling issues with new buyer, need advise.

The problem is had he just stated "no title" and left it at that I would agree. But he didn't. Did you read the 2 sentences he wrote after the "no title" part? "The truck is not currently titled or registered. It will come with the documents i got when i bought it from the Government so you...

Sold a 1031, titling issues with new buyer, need advise.

How about a double title transfer? This would require you to send the buyer a Power Of Attorney that gives him the power to title the truck in your name first. Then once that's done he can transfer the title to himself. The catch is you will need to pay for the initial title transfer.

    Pro mechanic in central fl

I'm not too far south of you and don't have a problem coming up for an afternoon to help as long as you have a shady area to work in. :) Sundays work best for me as that's the only day the wife is free to watch the kids but Saturday is possible if need be. While I have some large sockets from...

    What Is This?

Looks like a U.S. tank modified to look close to a Russian SPH (self propelled howitzer) for training purposes. Something like maybe a 2S1. 2S1 Gvozdika - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia But that's just my guess, I was a Zoomie (Air Force) when I was in and ground targets weren't my...

    Thinking about using A3 wheels

You're right, I forgot he was the all-knowing one.

    Thinking about using A3 wheels

That depends on how you interpret the original question.

    Thinking about using A3 wheels

Boy, before the guy gets his question answered he is already having his thread turned in to a classified ad for others.

    Thinking about using A3 wheels

Since I've seen some people mix up the definitions of rims, tires, and wheels, are you asking about A3 rims, A3 tires, or A3 tires with A3 rims? In other words what are your plans for your truck as far as tires go?

Deuce / D600 dodge crew cab camper build

Seeing as how deuces are a dime a dozen right now that doesn't bother me. It's the D600 that you're about to hack up that pisses me off! Sorry, just had to get that out of my system (I have a web site that's all about the 400-1000 series of Dodge trucks). :) Just wish you were closer to me...

    Another Lucky Winner...I Think

Congratulations on the new toy. :) Which lot number did you get? I was watching those trucks and was really wanting to bid on one due to the low prices but the wife would have killed me for sure as we are trying to save money to buy a house next year (we're tired of all the restrictions of...

    CDL Required in Florida?

Yes, as long your state doesn't require a special RV license for large RV's you can drive any size truck you want if it's pulling an RV trailer as it is classified as an RV combo and therefore qualifies for the RV exemption. Florida will allow a truck's registration to be reclassed as an RV but...

    CDL Required in Florida?

Here's a couple of things I've learned to do when talking to CLEO's (Commercial Law Enforcement Officers). 1.) Buy a spiral notebook and log all calls you make. Be sure to write down the phone number, date and time, and the name of the person you talked to along with the answer they gave you...

    CDL Required in Florida?

I think he's asking about 5 tons, not deuces. But that's just a guess based on his post being in the 5 ton forum. Anyhow, back to the original post. You asked about having the title indicate 23,000 pounds. In Florida that means nothing when it comes to CDL issues as they go by the...

    CDL Required in Florida?

Florida is pretty strange when it comes to CDL requirements. If it's a cargo truck that's for personal use you can drive any size truck regardless of GVWR/GCWR with a regular license. But if it has a commercial type fifth wheel hitch on the back and isn't designed to carry cargo on the truck...

    batteries diconnected sparks from alt

You have to remember that the CUCV series is not like most military trucks that are 100% 24 volts. Since most of a CUCV works off of 12 volts from the front battery there's an additional power connection between the two batteries. So if you only remove the ground wire from the front battery you...
