    How to check SF-97 progress??????

I'm a bit confused about the SF97 fee right now. Robyn from GL told us that the SF97 fee had been waived, but I asked "Meridith" today on GL's live chat and she said the fee was still in effect. Which is it?

Won a XM818 Tractor on GL Today

Yep, I'm planning on driving it home. It's about a 470 mile trip, so it shouldn't be too bad compared to what some of you have driven. Hopefully everything will go smoothly. Still would like to hear about the truck if anybody can tell me anything. I appreciate everyone's encouragement and...

Won a XM818 Tractor on GL Today

The dilemma is over for me now. I won a 1970 Kaiser Jeep XM818 at Wright Patterson, OH today on GL. Event #3309, Lot #4453. Odometer reads 23,845. Hour meter reads 740. I won it at $3220. I'm looking to learn everything I can about this truck. REGISTRATION NUMBER: 05E69270. VIN...

    Wright Patterson pick up

Wow, that's a miracle. I have been expecting to need somebody at Wright Patterson in the next week to two weeks. I'll PM you with more details in a couple days if I need some help. Thanks.

The Overall Fun Factor: M35A2 Deuce vs. M818 Tractor

At some point I will have both a deuce and an M818, but for now I have to get one or the other. And if some folks don't hesitate to ask to borrow the 5 ton, I won't hesitate to ask for some rent money. :) Thanks again for all the help everybody has given me.

The Overall Fun Factor: M35A2 Deuce vs. M818 Tractor

I'm open to either truck. I'm just going to take what comes along. There's a round of M818's coming up that are close enough to me that I could go and drive one back. That's a big plus right now. All of the upcoming deuces would have to be trucked to me, and that costs big $$$$.

The Overall Fun Factor: M35A2 Deuce vs. M818 Tractor

As for the hauling, I just remembered that my dad has a 20 foot Dynaweld trailer that will hook right up to the pintle hitch on the M818. I could haul more on it than I ever could in the bed of a deuce. It's rated for 20,000 or 25,000 pounds. So if I ever do find anything to haul, I'll be...

The Overall Fun Factor: M35A2 Deuce vs. M818 Tractor

Hi Mark, I'm in SE Missouri about 400 miles from you. I have a lot of experience in big machines as well (though not semi's) and I also would prefer a bigger truck. I'm going to do my best to get ahold of a M818, but that doesn't mean I will end up with one. If I get a good opportunity to get...

The Overall Fun Factor: M35A2 Deuce vs. M818 Tractor

I'll agree with that. I know nobody can tell me which I will like better, but I can look at other people's opinions and use them to help me decide which I think I will enjoy more. So far I have learned that the deuce will be more practical and economical, but the M818 will be more enjoyable to...

The Overall Fun Factor: M35A2 Deuce vs. M818 Tractor

At some point in the future I will have one of each, but for now I'll have to take one or the other. I'll agree with wyomingjeep, the best thing I can do is get the one that's in the best shape and is the easiest to get. Right now that's the M818, so that's what I'll try for. It doesn't...

The Overall Fun Factor: M35A2 Deuce vs. M818 Tractor

Storage space won't be a problem. I don't have a problem with the bigger and heavier components of the 5 ton. Hopefully I won't need too many parts anyway. Looking beyond the differences in usefulness, which the deuce wins at, which truck would be more enjoyable to drive and play with...

The Overall Fun Factor: M35A2 Deuce vs. M818 Tractor

I am in the process of interpreting the Missouri law right now to be sure I can legally and without worry drive the M818. As long as I'm 100% legal, the police can pull me over all they want. The weigh stations won't be an issue either. There isn't one within 100 miles of here. I'm beginning...

The Overall Fun Factor: M35A2 Deuce vs. M818 Tractor

Thanks for the input so far. To be honest, I really can't think of anything I would want to haul with the deuce. It's really not a big deal that I can't haul anything with the tractor. I just want to get the one that I would have the most fun with in the end. I know that the decision is...

The Overall Fun Factor: M35A2 Deuce vs. M818 Tractor

I'm just getting into this mess, and I'm looking to purchase my first MV. Originally I wanted a M35A2, but recently some nice M818's caught my eye. Now I don't know which I would rather have. Both have their positives and negatives. I wanted to get some opinions from you guys who are much...

Looking Seriously for a M35A2 Deuce

I'm ready to buy a deuce. I've been looking around, but I'm having a real hard time finding one in my price range. I want to spend $5000 or less. It sounds easy at first, but after looking around it seems that all the trucks are either $2000 junkers or $6000-7000 really nice trucks. There...

    Buying a M35A2 "Deuce"

I'm not one to start a new post for every little question I have, so I'll keep this one going as long as I can keep getting responses. I have come to the conclusion that Government Liquidation is probably not the right choice for me right now. I don't expect to have this deuce for much more...

    Buying a M35A2 "Deuce"

I need the height from the ground to the top of the hard top cab.

    Buying a M35A2 "Deuce"

Thanks everybody for your help and offers so far. I don't want to move into this too quickly. I'll probably want research for another week or two before I commit to buying one. I have an unrelated question for you guys. What is the height of a standard M35A2 measured from the ground to the...

    Buying a M35A2 "Deuce"

Hi everybody, I'm new here. I'm looking to buy a M35A2 "Deuce," and I figured there was nowhere better to ask for advice than right here. I would like to spend $5000 or less. I want to get a good solid truck that I won't have to work on all the time. I prefer turbocharged, hopefully with a...
