Cube, How tight are you getting the delivery valve holder? I have had to tighten the holder beyond spec on a few units to get the ip to make enough pressure to start. Also have never had to use grease to hold parts on re-assembly. They have just gone in the right place. David

Kurt, I figured you would have an idea from the symptoms. I looked over M7 and did not see the "I". The wiring numbers on M7 did not line up (137Jxx). Will go over that area again tomorrow. Many thanks for the response. David

You mentioned starting fluid. That is a big no-no on these smaller units. I just got a 002 repaired and started after what appears starting fluid was used on it. Piston ring lands on #1 and #2 rings destroyed. Was lucky enough to find two serviceable used pistons. Good luck on your efforts. David

Looks like someone went to town on this one. Flywheel teeth were rounded over and starter teeth were half gone. Wonder how many times they tried to start it? Lends some credence to Guyfang's follow through with troubleshooting comment. David

guyfang, I do have 24 volts on one wire that was attached to P16. Compared this S7 to another from a donor machine. The copper strip seems stiffer on the donor S7 (contacts have more "snap"). Everything else on the switches looked the same. Both plunger's were the exact same length. Cleaned up...

Bypassed K3 negative circuit by jumping TB4-3 around S7 to battery negative. Starter runs like it should. I had taken the speed switch out and looked at it before. Will pull out again and check it out. Also wiring could be suspect. Got to run for now. Many thanks for the support. David

Well, that one flopped. Jumped starter solenoid with 24 v. Starter runs as long as I hold the wire on it. Spins at a good rate. In my original post, I held in K3 which energizes K6 and the starter will run with no problems. Back to somewhere in the control circuit.... What's the purpose with the...
