I was painting my wheels this weekend and was using the camo black. I ran out of it and had a can of regular flat black, also Rustoleum. And in case anyone was wondering, yes there is a difference in the sheen from flat black to camo black. The camo black has no sheen at all compared to...
Maybe next year I can find some other local mil vehicle owners and really shake up the cruise in. In a good way!!
One of the parents of a kid getting his picture taken said I was the only vehicle he's ever seen at a car cruise that you could touch without getting a dirty look! :-D
Our small town held a festival this week which included a "Cruise In" yesterday. I decided on Friday to enter my M925 "Sandy" (my girls named it). I was a bit apprehensive never having participated in a cruise in before, let alone with something this unusual and large. Well, I arrived...

Ditto on JBL. His name is Sgt Jeff Laumer and he is always looking to help SS members. PM either him or me to get his number.
Also, even after you check everything, make sure to take thermo readings after about 20-30 miles on hubs, brakes, pumpkins and etc. Just recovered mine last weekend...
When people on SS say recoveries are an adventure that's the truth. Picked up my M925A2 on Saturday, was gonna be Sunday but had to move it up a day, which happened to be 95 degrees and stupid humid. Here's the truck...
First look! Looked great in person. Minor paint peel and some surface...
Yea, super reasonable fee. I'm glad I found out about Sgt Laumer here. It made it much easier to get my 5ton from GL knowing he's right there and very knowledgeable and helpful.
Sgt Laumer recovered my new hobby truck today. He said "looks pretty good it ran and rode real good just a couple of small issues". So, now I'm impatiently waiting till Sunday. Like a kid waiting for Santa to come on Christmas Eve.
Thanks again Sgt Laumer.
Thanks for the well wishes...
tedennis, welcome. Good luck in your search. Will definitely keep you in mind for an extra hand or a get together when you score one.
If I may make a suggestion, start reading the TM's now before you find one. They were a huge help when I started looking and gave me an idea on how these...
Sorry about not putting the recovery date. I will be leaving Sparta Sunday Sept 8th early am takes 6 1/2 hrs normally for a car, planning on 8 plus as a cushion. I will edit my first post. Thanks to those of you who have offered to help. Through this site I've found a ton of helpful people...
Will be driving my first 5ton 450 miles...
After patiently waiting a few weeks I've won a 5 ton from Sparta. Sgt Jeff Laumer is helping me out with the recovery. Great guy and patient with a newbie like me asking a lot of questions. I plan on driving it back to Northwest Ohio. I'm leaving...
