    modified trailer

Prices of military trailers are very reasonable. Has anyone purchased two m116a3 trailers and took the axles out to make one two axle trailer?

    modifying a M116a3

Has anyone removed the original bed and replaced it with something like a m1101 bed? Even a pickup bed would be useful on the m116a3 if it would fit.

    M116A3 Tilt Bed

After finding out that the M116A3 trailers are tilt bed, I removed the two bolts and tilted one of our trailers. What I found is that the wiring is to short for maximum tilt. I released the wiring to allow the tilt, but then when I returned the bed back to level, the holes would not line up to...

    Air Show/Car Show/Military Vehicle Display.

Last weekend, Redding California had a Air Show which also displayed Military Vehicles. We had our M923A2 along with two others. Also in the display was a M1070 along with many other vehicles. Here are a few. There were 31 Military Vehicles there, not counting Aircraft. Our M923A2 is in the...

    M116A3 Wood Trailer

Here are pictures of our M116A3 with wood sides, holding one cord of oak wood. These trailers make great wood haulers. For those who want to adapt a 12 volt four plug system. 22-460 wire goes to green, right turn signal 24-461 wire goes to yellow, left turn signal. 21-489 wire goes to brown...

September 27th and 28th 2014. Last Air Show, one of the most visited attraction was the military exhibit. So this year they are expanding to about 30 vehicles ranging from a 1942 Jeep with machine guns to a M1070. We will bring our M923a2.

    M116a3 types of beds?

Has anyone seen a bed like what is on a M1101, on a M116 trailer? I have done some searches and see the flatbed, or just the chassis. I am looking into using one of our M116a3 trailers to haul firewood, but to do that you need sides, preferably four foot sides. Has anyone here modified one to...

    M116A3 behind a Jeep Wrangler

Well, today I pulled our M116a3 flatbed trailer to DMV and back, 52 miles. I averaged 18.2 mpg with our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. That is almost what I get empty. So pulling a M116 is no strain.

    M116a3 Wiring

On one of our M116a3 trailers we are modifying the wiring to a 12 volt system. Using a exterior battery I located the right and left turn signal wires along with the wire for the running lights. I wired them into the four wire harness and using the green wire for the right blinker and brake...

    M116a3 modifications

We have three M116a3 flatbed trailers that show they weigh 800 lbs. empty. We have one M1101 trailer with an aluminum bed that shows it is 1460 lbs. empty. I would think that the aluminum bed is not 660 lbs. Therefore it might be advantageous to find another M1101 bed and put it on the M116a3...

What I found out about seals.

A while back, we purchased a 2011 M1101 trailer. I took off the wheel and brake drum and checked the bearings for grease. Before I did this, I checked and found out that the M1101 wheel seal was CR22532 which is the same as a Auto Xtra 412920. Napa had the CR for a little over $22 each. Summit...

What to do with M116a3 wheels and tires.

I have been studying on what to do with the tires and wheels that came with our three M116a3 trailers. They are like new, about 98% tread, but make the trailers pretty tall. The trailers are to short to pull behind our M923a2, and to tall for our F250 pickup or Jeep without modification. What...

    Brought home three M116a3 trailers.

They fit nicely on our 16ft. tilt car trailer. The bed is 8 ft. long, and it looks like it could easily be modified to a 12 ft. bed. I will post pictures as I am modifying them.

    M116a3 trailers

Good news. I just won three M116a3 trailers, and my buddy won two. Bad news. Trying to find a trailer to haul all five trailers up to northern Ca. Plan A: was to bid on four trailers and drive down with two pickups and stack two of the trailers on the top of the bottom two. Plan B: Is to...

    M923a2 parking brake lockup.

Typo error,,, should read parking brake lockup. I thought I would start a new thread on my problem, because the other thread involving the same issues was remedied, mine is not. Our M923a2 had been working fine. Now the truck will not move because the brakes are locked on. By depressing the...
