    Deuce brakes locking up.

Also yes on the master cylinder. They are cheap. Air pack is the expensive one and I already bit the bullet on that.

    Deuce brakes locking up.

If I remember correctly we had a member that was selling them on here already made up. Peashooter I think? Been awhile so I might be mistaken.

    Deuce brakes locking up.

It's completely dot 5 brake fluid. Good info on dot 3 vs dot 5 separating out the water. I'm now thinking water is pooled in the bottom of the master cylinder. I'm going to bleed again completely. Also going to start on brake lines after this problem is resolved. Could not agree more with the...

    Deuce brakes locking up.

I have an alcohol sniffter installed immediately after the compressor. I don't get any ice when I drain the tanks. Since it only happens below 27 degrees I'm pretty sure it's a water problem somewhere freezing. Just can't figure out where. Something is freezing enough to lock up the brake pedal...

    Deuce brakes locking up.

Definitely at 80psig. Plugged another guage into the system to verify. I can see this happening if the brakes just locked up tight. That being said, it locks up both directions hit and miss. Either it locks the brakes fully engaged and truck won't move, or it locks the brakes disengaged and the...

    Deuce brakes locking up.

It's the connector that semis use for air brakes on a trailer. The Deuce has two of them in the back next to the pintle hitch. I mostly use mine for running an air hose as a compressor.

    Deuce brakes locking up.

Well...been awhile since I had a chance to work on this. Replaced the air pack with a brand new one. Still doing the same thing. Bled the brakes with all new fluid. Last year it was doing it any time it got below about 27 degrees. I guess the only thing I can do is replace the master cylinder?

    Lockouts, hubs and where?

My thought was to remove the bed and install 2 s250 shelters in order to buold a camper. Becuase of the shape of the shelters, the large part should sit up a bit higher than the bed, so I am hoping contact will not he an issue during full articulation. I could be wrong of course.

    Lockouts, hubs and where?

Ok guys. Thanks. Ill consider air lockers. Might be cheaper in the long run if I dont need the lockout hubs. I am assuming they work like a rwfular limited slip unril they are actuated. Correct?

    Lockouts, hubs and where?

Yeah. Kind of nervous about air lockers. If the oring blows it seems like it would pressurize my axle seals with 120psi. At least for a second until they blew out. Just an article i was reading.

Ok. Thanks for your time and opinion.

    Lockouts, hubs and where?

Ok. I am going to mod my deuce instead of picking up a 5 ton. Had a choice either or. So I am thinking I would like to install lockers. First question: Do I need them in all three axles? Its my understanding that if I put them in the front and last axle, worst case only one tire will spin...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Installed new front shoes for the deuce, and finally installed the spare. Also hooked up the front camera to go with my backup camera.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Yeah....but I have them on the stock split rims so it has to be a tube or a stem. Want to get away from those rims anyways so Ill start the migration now lol.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Finished flushing what looked like cold beef gravy from my entire brake system from MC on back, and all wheel cylinders. Had to bleed after installing new air pack. Also installed a new 24v blower motor so I'd have heat this winter. Checked oil and radiator.

    Deuce brakes locking up.

OK....Deuce is still down waiting on an air pack rebuild...and I still need to get back and forth to work. Then it occurred to me, that when I bought this truck with 395s, that one way or another I would NOT get stuck in snow with these tires lol......

    Deuce brakes locking up.

Not a bad price for the heartache they save. Is that the 24v electric one?

    Deuce brakes locking up.

Yeah..I was wondering about that. My Dad was a trucker for years. He suggested that they actually make an airline antifreeze for air brakes. I wasn't sure about using it with air over hydraulic thinking it might be hard on the seals in the airpack. Is it safe to use that stuff on a deuce?
