    Stolen M35 - Colorado - on or before 11/22/2015

I'll let the guys at the American Legion post in Saguache (at the other end of the canyon) know to keep their eyes open. Maybe it will turn up on one of the ranches.

    Hidden deuce finds

My stake pockets were loaded with .223 brass, and quite a few unfired blanks (and a bunch of sunflower seed wrappers). Slow days at Fort Sill.....

No pedal after bleeding air pack in M35A2

Thanks - on my way out to check now. Next step is building a power bleeder.

No pedal after bleeding air pack in M35A2

I used air tool oil, since it was what I'd seen recommended here. I hadn't heard of using high temp grease, but it sounds like it works great if I end up rebuilding the air pack. Thanks. I'll be back at it this afternoon, but keep wondering why the fluid level in the master cylinder doesn't...

No pedal after bleeding air pack in M35A2

Thanks for the help - I'll be bleeding all the lines tomorrow. I had heard about master cylinders failing when the pedal gets pushed to the floor during bleeding, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. I appreciate the responses. This is the first time I've been inside a brake drum for many years. I...

No pedal after bleeding air pack in M35A2

I lubricated the air pack last week, took a test drive and the brakes were strong with no issues. I pushed the pedal when I pulled in the driveway and it hit the floor. The driver's front line blew right there (whew). It was almost new. I replaced it today, checked the wheel cylinder and...

    Air leak under dash

If you can't get it to stop leaking, there's one listed on the Memphis Supply pages for the M35's. It's expensive though.

    Air leak under dash

Here's a photo of the unit taken apart -

    Air leak under dash

Mine also had a pretty good leak from that same hole when I bought it. I removed the sending unit and took it apart carefully. After cleaning all the old dust out, I reassembled it and it has been silent and trouble free for the past year. Hope this helps.

    New to M35A2, first purchase

That's a really nice looking truck! I also drove mine about 350 miles after buying it, and it also came home with an air leak under the dash. Mine was coming from a vent hole in the right side of the low air pressure sending unit. This is on the inside firewall above the steering column. The...

    Continental Divide

I'm looking forward to seeing your photos. I've been over Independence Pass many times, but I'm not sure I'd want to take a Duece through "the narrows" on the west side. Single lane with rock overhangs and steep dropoffs to the river. Maybe they camped on the east side and came back down -...

    Vietnam Deuce bumper-mounted wire cutter?

Here are a couple of shots of wire cutters in 1968. I never saw these cutters on anything larger than a jeep.

    Fall in Cache, UT

That's funny, and I think you're right - they herd me to the dog food bag whenever I'm in the vicinity.

    Fall in Cache, UT

That sounds like a perfect weekend. And in some beautiful country. I'd love to invite one of my collies along for a drive sometime, but they just bark at my truck whenever I start it.

    Light Wood Hauling

Sure enjoyed your photos and the description of your day. That looks like beautiful country. We'll be headed into the woods with the Deuce for some tree cutting a few times this fall. The smell of fresh cut trees, chainsaw oil, mountain air - it's just close to heaven. And putting your feet up...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Took the low air buzzer sending unit apart, cleaned a bunch of fine dust out of it, and reassembled. It's really good to have the buzzer working again, and no soft hiss from under the dash after the truck shuts down. The buzzer shuts off right at 60 pounds now - perfect!

Dressing for the parade with new canvas

She's feeling pretty with her new canvas!. I can smell it inside the house if the wind's right - love it. Harry

Recovery of my Deuce, weekend of May 31 and June 1

A great write-up, and a great looking Deuce! It sounds like your recovery trip will be a nice memory for years to come. I know mine will. Thanks - Harry

    Ray and Ray's Road Trip

Great write-up, and great looking truck! Wish I'd been there for the BBQ, and it would be fun to see Fort Polk again. I was through Tigerland in '68, and had never been anywhere so green before. Leesville was something else.... Thanks for an enjoyable read. Harry

My first Deuce! 1967 AMG M35A2

What a great looking truck! Those tires look so good. Hopefully your trip home will be as trouble free as mine was recently. Three hundred miles and the only problem was hearing protection that could have been better. I'm thinking that if my wife hadn't been following along with a couple...
