    Traveler Brand Trans Fluid

I am not sure how it is today but I assume its somewhat similar to when I was in Cal Poly back SLO in the late 80s. At that time we had some expert from the oil industry come in a put on a presentation. I don't remember everything he said that day but one thing stuck in my mind: At that time he...

Axletech isas 4500 steering set up

Thats a heck of a deal for what it would cost to duplicate that set up. Also Ca. emission compliant, thats a big deal for us behind the lines. But to me half the fun is building it (not that that set up wouldn't leave enough to be interesting!) That IFS system is different from mine. It looks...

    Air Ride Seat base/platform

I probably have a few laying around PM me if your still interested, but they may be lower and the seat may need to be spaced up.

Made opening my hood much easier

Funny thing is with the tee handle it is much easier to open a M939 with the winch then without the winch. The short handle model without the winch give little leverage. With the longer winch model its easily half the effort, but your idea looks good too.

New guy with a new ride seeking winch purchase advise

I was thinking the same thing about the warn 18k. . I would personally rather have an electric then a pto winch but hydraulic would be my favorite. I was following this winch but unfortunetely it just sold but it gives you an idea of the prices...

Axletech isas 4500 steering set up

Back to my steering question: In the picture I posted of the RG31 MRAP is from the front of a BAE brochure in PDF. If you start with this larger picture and magnify it you can sort of make out the steering in the front. It looks like it has a pitman arm and the idler arm (or possibly dual...

Axletech isas 4500 steering set up

Thanks, so it is even more confusing. I didn't realize that there appears to be another company making IFS for the Military. Yours are made by ArvinMeritor. So theres AxleTech, Arvin Meritor and Oshkosh's TEK4. And of course parts for all and them and their various models and brake styles all...

Axletech isas 4500 steering set up

But in your pictures it looks like there are 2 different center sections. Maybe Its just the pictures but the picture with the 2 units have a hexagon like shape (hummer) mounting flange for the axle shafts. But the picture with the yellow pattern grease looks like that unit has round and surface...

Axletech isas 4500 steering set up

Yeah I had been trying a while to collect parts for that set up too, prior to this purchase. I believe thats a TAK 4 type. But there is so many different auctions and parts kits etc. when you get individual parts. I am sure they will at some time release the whole package like in your picture...

Horn question - Power Steering from M39 series

Well one thing he asked was how to hook up the horn button on a m939 steering column. Since I dont know anything about the older 800's trucks thats all I tried to provide. Someone else can provide the rest.

Horn question - Power Steering from M39 series

Your right I misread it, I thought the switch icon was the solenoid ! I guess its time to get some glasses. So it is wired like a typical horn button, so replace the 24v+ with ground in the above!

Horn question - Power Steering from M39 series

Is this on the M939 or the m1070. I thought I saw the solenoid grounded on the M939 wiring diagram. I will have to look again. The extra horn button for the m1070 is like the automatic trans, to make it more "familiar" for the average person, you wont see either one on many big rigs.

    winch installs

Maybe I am dreaming, but when I once removed the factory winch I didn't even think about trying to lift man that! Its got to be lighter then that!

Horn question - Power Steering from M39 series

Do you have electric horns? If you have air horns like the m939 you can hook up an air valve like most all big rigs. its just a mechanical air valve with a chain that is normally located to the right of your head above the front door. You just pull the chain when you want to blast the horn...

    M915A-1 Electric windshield wiper conversion?

Your on your own with these type of installations. I was playing around with doing this on the M939s. Its doable. I bought some 24v units from this site for retrofit but never went through with it. These units are adjustable for arc of swing so you can adapt the degrees to match your vehicle...

    winch installs

The hydraulic would be better in performance and much better for lasting daily use but these make more sense for most people. I sure like the compact clean look of these!(and light!) Also they would be much easier to up fit and to use then the hydraulic unit. With the factory hydraulic winch you...

    AC install in M936, Completed

When you say the condenser was built for the M939 do you mean custom built or was it a OEM part? Whats up with the group buy M939A2 I tried a search but maybe didnt use the right wording.

Axletech isas 4500 steering set up

I came across a few new Axletech ISAS 4500 independent coil spring suspension systems. These are used in the newest RG31 MK5 EHM MRAPS. They weren't cheap but they should offer a unique offroad experience. I haven't got my hands on them yet but I am thinking of using a bobbed M931A2 as a...

When is someone going to bob a HET?

Also you may try Stockton wheel, they make custom steel wheels for military tires among other things. http://www.stocktonwheel.com/

When is someone going to bob a HET?

I think I saw some on GLS not too long ago. They are crazy wide but look very distinctive for a military tire.
