    hmmwv tachometer installation

Wanted to say thanks to hmmwv1 for this thread, and TNriverjet for the tach (got it from you off another site.) Got mine wired up this past weekend and it works great at idle. Didn't get to take it up to speed due to another issue. I wired mine the same as hmmwv1 to the tach drive, but ran...

    Rhino non-bumper mount kit

After seeing how these mounts are pretty much non existant, and the added benefit of a full rear bumper, I've decided to pony up for one. Took a few hours of searching around and making a scribbled mess on a piece of paper with all the part numbers and prices, but at least have a bumper and...

    Rhino non-bumper mount kit

http://www.rhinolift.com/pdfs/RICO%20HMMWV%20Literature.pdf Has anyone ever seen the non bumper mount kits for sale or in the wild? I can't tell from the first picture what the kit entails, or if it would be hard to fabricate mounts for a Rhino or Ibis Tek tire carrier and keep the orginial...

    Assistance installing Mile Marker

This is the tag off the hard line you have the green arrow to from my winch. Did a few searches for the various numbers, and nothing came up, but may help you when calling milemarker.

Anyone modified 2 man troop seats for 4 man vehicle?

I went ahead and tried to get the 2 man bows to fit. It was obvious it would not come close after just cutting them down to height, so I cut two 2 1/2" pieces out from each side of center, and spliced it back together. I used 1/2" emt slid inside to mock it up. I may weld it back later, but...

Anyone modified 2 man troop seats for 4 man vehicle?

Can anyone measure their rear bows meant for the 4 man cargo cover? I'm looking for the out-to-out dimension of the bows at the top corners. I'm assuming it would be the same as measuring the velcro connection on the rear roof, but just want to make sure before I try anything else.

Anyone modified 2 man troop seats for 4 man vehicle?

Well, that's not good to hear, but was one of my fears. I was also worried about the front top corners where it velcros into the soft top. That area I can fix, but having my doubts on the back end. Guess I'll find out in a few days.

Anyone modified 2 man troop seats for 4 man vehicle?

I decided to try this out as well. I took it road camping last weekend and after sleeping on the tunnel, thought the 4 man cargo cover would be a good addition so I could keep more gear and my legs dry. After looking around for the cargo kit and seeing the prices, I decided to just order a...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I painted them. They come in a zinc finish originally. I'll paint the other side of them when I get around to working on the interior of this someday. They make it in stainless as well, but cost triple for that. These are the ones I...

    Getting close to finished

Wow, that looks good! You sure do some fine work.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Got the driver hi-back seat installed yesterday. Sure wish they designed these things for people over 6' tall. Need to get a larger fire extinguisher than what I have now to fit the bracket. Also got the locking door handles put in yesterday. They fit great and the holes lined up...

    Thermostat number

Hopefully someone can verify it works then. I installed it and started it up to check for leaks, but haven't driven it yet. I noticed the one I took opened at 180 and not 190 like this one.

    Thermostat number

I went off of advice I read in another thread here and told Napa it was for a 95 Hummer with the 6.5. Part Number there was 381-190. They also had the gasket for it when searching under that vehicle.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

The person that painted it used new PPG Shopline Jau #1. The sticker on the can says Govt Fed Spec Code 34086 and Brand code 46008. I agree with you it is much more like the 24086. To be fair, the painter tested it on the tail gate first and I gave the go ahead on using it for the rest of the...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Had time lately, so got some work done to my project. Here it was in the 2 man configuration with some pretty obvious paint issues... Picked up some X-doors and a top, and painted the exterior in the Fed Stand #34086. It didn't come out totally matte, but should clean up easier. Got a...

    Random items found in HMMWV

Not too interesting, but I was pleased to find all of this under the rear seats. Jack with handles, tools, bags, 3 lug wrenches, spout to something, triangles, 2 first aid kits, some others odds and ends, and a 9mm round.

5 ton bed on a Deuce?

Will fix this weekend. I've been working nights this week and would like to blame lack of sleep lately for not thinking of how simple this really would be. Thank you!

5 ton bed on a Deuce?

I ended up shortening and drilling the wood filler strips from the 5 ton bed. Hope this doesn't create a problem because I really don't want to take this off again, although I'm starting to get pretty good at it.  Something else I found a little interesting, is the 2 1/2 ton beds have one...

5 ton bed on a Deuce?

I got this project almost complete this past weekend. Took a little more work and time than I originally thought it would, but I'm pretty happy with the results. If I'm ever going to move the rear lights up to the 5 ton location, I'll need to find out where to get those military wire splices...

5 ton bed on a Deuce?

Question on the wood spacer between the bed and frame. The deuce ' s is 3/4" most of the way and tapers down to 1/2" near the front. Is it designed this way for movement of has it just word down over the years? Reason I'm asking is the one that came with the 5 ton bed is in better condition...
