Thanks much for the email, got it on my calendar as well. Good location choice by the way, near dead center for all of us to drive.

MEP-003A No-start After Fuel Filter Replacement

I wanted to interject an experience I had many years ago with my M35A2, I had recently bought a surplus unit and was driving it home when it started to slowly lose performance on the highway, decided to pull out the filters and replace them, while installing the new filters I over-tightened the...

    Tips for a detailed resto

NC_Pinz, The Aluma-Hyde II is perfect for almost all metal surfaces except flexable plastics which most paints have difficulty sticking to. The Aluma-Hyde II is very resistant to fading due to its epoxy base, that's the main reason why it takes so much time to cure (24 hours). Scarecrow1; so...

    Tips for a detailed resto

So glad to help someone! Like you, there is a right way and a wrong way to restore MV's, some people think that a restoration is nothing more than applying a coat of OD green paint and go hog wild under the hood with the OD paint! It's my goal to do things as accurate as I'm able and within my...

    Tips for a detailed resto

Wanted to share a couple small ideas I use on restoring things. I have a '43 Willys' MB nearly finished and I found a neat way to restore the small nuts and bolts on the old girl. When the Jeep was built, the nuts and bolts were blackened during their manufaturing process for rust protection...

    Gunner's platform/Stand

I concur. I'm pretty sure what mount you're describing. We did the same thing by using the two existing holes and drilling the additional two. Just be sure to look underneath to be sure you can safely put the bolt where you need to meaning, check for wiring, braces and anything else in the way.

    WTB MKT trailer unit

Hello folks, looking for one or two MKT's to restore and use. They don't need to be complete and can be missing the canvas and other inerds. I have the MBU's and will only need the main grill and the main counters that everything mounts on to. I plan to replace the ice chest with a small chest...

Ad Hoc armor for HMMWV 2003

I'm guessing there was as slew of ideas that resulted in attempts to harden our soft skinned vehicles in OIF/OEF. These pics show what I did to try to harden a few HMMWV's I had in 2-6 Infantry, 2nd Armored Brigade, 1st AD while in Iraq, 2003-04. The pics are of our Bn Commanders' vehicle which...

    SF Modified HMMWV pics

Folks, I wanted to post some pics for your benefit of a HMMWV I took some pics of back when I was in Iraq in 2003-04 while at an SF compound at the BIAP. They used this rig to transport a gaggle of men to hit a building, the ladder was to either breach the compound walls often found in built up...

    Gunner's platform/Stand

Sir, may I ask for a picture to better answer your question? There's a couple types of weapon mounts. If yours is the type that bolts to the deck, it can be mounted either in the rear cargo area or the center, will help you more with pics or at least the nomenclature.

    WTB/T M35A2 project [Texas]

Hello folks, I'm scrounging for a friend, he's looking for a project Deuce to complete. Doesn't have to be pretty, just mostly there. I'd prefer something within Texas or decent driving distance from Central Texas. Also looking for one or two MKT's, I prefer to get some that are near "bare...

    PRC-104 "Stump the chump" question

I would have to concur with you. The connector on the RT-1209A has 19 pins so it's only logical to conclude it's the new and improved connector for the GRC-206 applications but, I've never seen the adapted connector to verify this idea. I have a manual for the 1209A and it doesn't give any other...

    PRC-104 "Stump the chump" question

Thanks Bender, I'll research that and check it out. I'm also looking for the 100 watt amplifiers that the 104 mounts in to make the GRC-206 so if you stumble onto one of those, I'd be grateful.
