    Oil cooler lines

REDWOLF, I replaced both of my oil cooler lines last year. I purchased brand new replacements from O'Reilly. I know it sounds surprising that they would sell something like these, but they were no sht the exact fit. I don't have the O'Reilly part numbers anymore, but what I did was plugged the...

    NP208 emergency rear cover?

Unless I'm thinking of a different Tcase, a Gatorade bottle cap should slide right into place inside of that seal.

What to do with water sensor and fuel heater after changing to canister filter

These depictions showing examples of a spin-on fuel filter with a WIF sensor are from a 1996 3500 Cummins. If you'd prefer to keep a Water In Fuel warning, maybe consider getting this part equivilent from NAPA.

    Canadian "Pre-CUCV" Chevy

I just read this entire thread, as well as the entire nearly 7-year-old Pirate4x4 thread. Very interesting, had no idea that the 1970's Canadian "Five-Quad" existed in their military. Clearly the reliability of their Five Quads paved the way for our 1980's CUCVs. bbking, thanks for the update...

Water and oil cooler on 2 single conversion

Welcome to the forum. Did your truck come without a radiator. Are you trying to install 2 different radiators; 1 for the engine coolant, and the other for automatic transmission fluid? Or are you planning on installing a completely separate radiator/cooler for engine oil?

    CUCV M1008 Rifle Mounts

Thanks a bunch. I was actually able to locate a pair of the mounts last weekend and got them mounted back up. They are awesome, not only will they harbor my M16, but they also harbor my M1A Scout Squad, and my buddy's HK G3.

    CUCV M1008 Rifle Mounts

Thanks a lot Recovery. All that I have to work with is the butt stock box still welded to the cab floor, and 4 remaining pop rivet holes per side. I have the latch assemblies, but I am missing the actual brackets that the latches bolt up to and rivet to the cab wall... I may have those brackets...

    CUCV M1008 Rifle Mounts

Anyone know which TM describes and/or depicts the weapon mounts in all CUCV models? I am certain that I have 1/2 of the parts that I need to re-install my rifle mounts on either side of my bench seat, but I need to see a picture. The only pictures that I am able to find are for the M1009 Blazer-...

    M1008 charging issue

Know anyone around there with a battery load tester? If you can get your hands on a battery load tester check each battery with the truck running, and without the truck running. Load testing each battery with the engine off will tell you the condition of each battery, and load testing each...

    CUCV FUEL CAP

It doesn't have to be new, it just needs to seal. I took my fuel cap into a local hose and fittings and hydraulics shop and the guy was puzzled because he had never seen the style o-ring that came on these things... Hah. Nice.

    General question

I personally like to keep things as original as possible unless it's a functional modification, like a better engine swap that is still a military engine. Other than that, NATO used white, Air Force used a dark blue. But heck, if I lived way out of access to other paint colors and all that I had...

M1009 Electrical Problems after Changing Glow Plugs

Great! I am glad to hear avlon01 that it's up and running again. Yeah... darn battery configuration in general on this vehicle and electrical system can get confusing quickly as the Military required a 24VDC starting system, so we have 2 12volters in series, and negative sides of batteries going...

New Guy from NV - Hello everyone

Thanks all. My apologies for the use of the f-bomb in my original thread title, Warthog.. Yes, my friend is a big-rig diesel mechanic who works at a shop with a paint booth that you can fit a semi truck into. We prepped it and re-painted it, when I got it the paint was very oxidized and rough...
