    Another problem with M135??

I’m just suggesting it as a test to find out if the governor is an issue. I have found if the governor system isn’t working right it really messes up engine and transmission performance in these trucks.

    Another problem with M135??

It will not effect spark advance operation. When testing leave the fittings open so there’s nothing to act on the governor diaphragm. You can not use the governor but there will be nothing to stop the engine from over reving since you no longer have have the hydramatic with it’s own internal...

    Another problem with M135??

The spark advance is mechanical. The 2 lines feed a centrifugal valve in the base of the distributor for the governor operation.

    Another problem with M135??

You can unhook the steel governor lines at the carb to take the governor out of operation for testing. The governor overrides manual throttle input.

    Transmission torus members failure

There is no bushing installed and does not appear to ever be one.

    Transmission torus members failure

Just finished disassembling the transmission down to the components and everything looks good outside of metal shavings throughout. I did do the air-check tests from the TM, before disassembly and didn’t find anything wrong. Next step will be to open up the clutch packs. Then the long slow task...

    Transmission torus members failure

I don’t have much to share on it yet but got it mounted to the engine stand to work on. I’ve been busy with farm work since the weather has been decent. I plan to get at it when it’s crappy outside. As far as parts go I have a few other hydramatics that I saved out of junk trucks headed to the...

    International I4 Tractor

Mostly nope on the dipstick, two turn valves. The Farmall M’s were the same way. There was an aftermarket dipstick sold by other manufacturers and still is by parts suppliers. The brakes should be a simple band around a drum that’s on a shaft with a gear in gauging the bull gear on the axle if I...

    International I4 Tractor

The I4 and w4 would the same as the farmall H. Most parts, engine, transmission, and some other are interchangeable. Do not scrap those rear weights, they are hard to find!

    Transmission torus members failure

All the bolts are still in the flywheel. The spacer was on the shaft with the nut and lock plate with folded tabs still in place. My only guess is a blade broke and destroyed the rest. The spring is not broken and the collar looks fine. Those parts are on the blue rag in the picture.

    Transmission torus members failure

A few weeks ago we were working a m211 hulling a heavy load and after stopping for a stop sign then going through the intersection, it lost all power to the wheels. So that day turned into a recovery job. Luckily I have a m816 wrecker and it was able to tow it loaded back home very slowly on...

    303M HydraMatic rebuild

If the gasket company has a minimum order, I’d be happy to chip in for a couple sets for myself. If you need to make the minimum.

    G749 preservation

The 2 lines are for the governor on the carb. It has nothing to do with spark advancement

    Wiring help, seeking wisdom

The brake light switch is 2 pined in one shell. There are military vehicle parts vendors that stock the switch with the dugless connector.

    Delco-Remy 1111556 24v Ignition Unit

I don’t have the parts book in front of me to look up the technical name but I just searched “M series distributor plug” for the photo. Most MV parts suppliers have them. When I said harness before, I should have said engine wiring harness.

    Delco-Remy 1111556 24v Ignition Unit

There should be a wire to supply 24v to the threaded plug on the harness.

    M816 coolant line part number?

Hi. I’m doing some maintenance on my 5 ton and noticed a steel coolant tube weeping at the clamp and should be replaced. The tube I’m talking about is the long line from the air compressor that runs across the front of the engine. I’ve be looking though the parts TMs and can’t seem to find the...
