I have fuse half way down that line but it is no where close to the battery. I am going to be changing that now. I definitely lucked out that I caught it in time.I found a few other places where I found some chafing as well. So i would definitely be looking over your rigs to make sure the wires...
Ok..... So i finally got the parts I needed and found the issue. I have a hot wire going from the front battery to the rear of the truck to charge my batteries off the alternator. Well the wire that goes from the battery to the isolator charger had worn through and grounded out onto the battery...
I have an external oil cooler on my truck the lines come from around the oil filter on the engine. Both those lines were replaced (they were leaking by where the crimp which is a common problem) 4 weeks ago by a shop since i didn't have time before I moved up to northern california for the fire...
So i was driving over this mountain pass yesterday on a forest service road and I noticed my radio started to turn on and off when it got bumpy. Thought it was a loose wire or something so i pulled over and looked under the dash. Nothing seemed loose.
I said screw it, ill figure it out later...
Well i finally did it. Left the cap on the tire and drove off..... anyone sitting on some extra fuel caps? Or know where i can source a new one.
Thanks!
Looking for the passenger top alternator replacement for a 1984 m1010 6.2
I ordered one off amazon and the stock bracket didnt line up with it. I can only find one number stamped on the original alternator it and it doesnt pop up with anything.
Awesome I will let you know what ends up happening first things first is getting this thing checked out by an actual mechanic.
Also, hoping some people can chime in on this. If i do go the 6.5 what year is the best? and which transmission would be the best choice I would prefer having...
The 6.5 is what i was thinking about for ease of swap and cost effectiveness. I dont necessarily mind the 6.2 when it ran just want it running and not sure exactly what is wrong with it. It is above my skill set at this point. Apparently it was the whole time since I probably ****ed something...
Been having some trouble with the M1010.
About a month ago cut out on me and after a bunch of different tests found out it wasnt getting fuel to the injectors somehow. At first I thought it could be the mechanical fuel pump which are known to go out so I bypassed it and put in an electric fuel...
So just got finished installing the injector pump along with a electric fuel pump. It starts and runs super good. I took it around the block and on a straight away by my place and it won't shift out of first gear when it is in Drive and even when I go into first gear then shift it into second...
Is it possible to put it in after i installed it?? Because everything is already installed..... I tried putting it in front of the nipple where i attach the fuel line to coming off of fuel filter and it wouldn't go in. Is that where it goes? I did it spring first. Doesn't look like it would ever...
Where does this go ?? Just got my injection pump rebuilt and it came back with two pieces in a plastic bag... Not to sure why they didn't just put it together like i sent it in to them but it is what it is.
Can someone help me out and let me know where this is supposed to go ?
So i decided to bypass most of the fuel system and go straight into the injector pump. I used a bottle full of diesel and gravity fed the diesel using clear lines into the injector pump. I also put a clear line on the return line of the injector pump.
I noticed two things when I did this. One...
Whats the best way to measure the psi after the fuel filter? And to be honest i don't think its that because when i undid the outlet hose it would hold a steady stream out into the cup i was holding under it
