I got in around 3:10am. I assume John got in shortly thereafter.

Pulled pork was awesome thanks for going to the trouble.

Had a blast as always even with the trouble on the way home.

From my side of the fence.
The pulled pork was a bunch of work.
I did not break even on the money side, not even close.
I brought home much leftover material.
Will I continue doing this?
You bet I will.
I enjoyed the experience, and the gratitude expressed by all.
Filling bellies and making folks happy is fun.

That is all.

Like I said to you Friday night, I like the way you cooked the pork better than others. Season to taste is my motto. After seeing how much stuff you bought I was afraid you wouldn't break even or make anything. It is tough at the Georgia Rally as well with the MKT trailer as lots of people bring food to cook on their own as well as some people having giant cookouts and invite everyone in camp. It's a tough issue to try and solve.

But the food was good and I even tried the sandwich with cold slaw on it. (Also good.) I did finally eat a bag of the flaming hot Cheetos...... ;-)

Food was excellent. Serving line was well organized.
I especially liked the "Nobody leaves hungry policy" I'll admit I had seconds!
Huge Thanks to Bill and Crew !

That policy is a standard at all events I cook at.

To all;

I realize that it is early but planning starts many months out.
For the fall Rally we are considering doing the spaghetti dinner thing again.
We are also entertaining reverting to the donation model, there ain't no money in this.
The goal is to bring folks together.

That is all.

Just thinking here but I wonder if just the fact that letting folks know you ran a deficit will get some of the conciencious folk to offer up a few extra bucks. Also, maybe one of our vendors would like to sponsor (subsidize) a meal at the event. No way one member or small group should shoulder the burden.

I like your concept. We shall see how / if it manifests itself.
To date this has been our ( Gungearz and family, along with myself ) contribution to the group.

That is all.

I have cooked for large groups for a long time. It is thankless job and I stopped doing it. No matter what people bring their own food even with advance warning of food is provided.
