Thanks everyone for the nice comments!

I have not had a chance to try it of course, but theoretically the crane should be able to lift the FSM (Fire Suppression Module) with a full contingent of water in it.

The empty FSM weights 3200 # and 1200 gallons of water weigh in at 9960# for a total of 13160 #.
The Ajax MHC has a capacity of 13200 # at a 9.5 foot radius.

So it is very close. I think if I don't fill the tank to the brim and make sure to grab the FSM, as close as feasible, over the right side of the FEMTT (the crane is offset to the passenger side by almost a foot), I think the FEMTT will be able to self-load the FSM with H2O.

Only time and an actual test will tell though......lol

I had a pallet with a huge water tank on it, think almost 5000 gallons of water with a little pump and some hose. My 5 axle pls could load and unload the pallet no problem empty, could even unload full. Try to load it full and you're asking to break something. The tank took up at leat 15 feet of the pallet and I couldn't touch the top of it. Let's not forget it was all steel.

Always better to know the libations before you need to IMHO.

Soni, what about the hot tub and guntruck modules?
Well, the "Hot Tub Module" or HTM is still a go, if you don't mind the 'Enclosed Version'.....it holds 600 gallons (half full), is made of stainless steel, has great privacy and it can bee heated to your preference, by means of an electric submersion heater! lol

On the Gun truck module; not so much.......it would need an armored or up-armored cab to lock right....plus I got my front axle close to maxed out already, so armor is not an option. :(

I really wana do a HET gun truck though....I have some great pics of one made for convoy escort service in Irak! That would be an awesome looking machine for sure! :grd:

Speaking of HET.....here are some pics of the FEMTT on 'HET Dismantling Detail'......Enjoy.....lol

Soni, IF you are omitting some HET parts I may be looking for a piece or two.

I know a guy that might be interested in a few items if you are parting it out a little. His has an unfortunate run in with a swift truck last year.
Yes, there will be some parts available from this HET. Anybody looking for parts please PM me with your needs.

That truck WILL be a 3 axle cargo with a crane after BART is finished.

At this point, no on the #4, #3 will go in the #4 spot and #2 will go into the #3 spot, also if need be, I believe that I can fix the #4 input snout. No code name yet for this build. The idea is that EVERFBODY seems to have a everyday, run of the mill HET, what is the fun of having a BIG eye catcher like Joe down the street, hence BART and the unnamed cargo version.

I have been talking to the owner concerning this build about once a week since about last Sept., so I am pretty sure the #4 question has been answered in the negative.

Today, I installed a Code 3 MX 7000 light bar on the cab of the FEMTT in anticipation of it's use in FIRE SERVICE this summer. I'm working on getting the diesel powered water pump and the hose reel installed in the rear compartment of the FSM.
Had not had a chance to take pics of that though....maybe tomorrow.

As requested, I spoke with my customer about doing a thread on the 'Adventure Motorhome' / 'Zombie Apocalyse Mobile'. Good news; he has no objections to such an activity and so IT'S A GO!!!!
Now I have to figure out a name for the thread....would that still go in to the '5 ton hot rod and modification' category?

Anyway....here are a couple more recent pics:

One is a side view of the 6x6 HET chassis cab....

The others are from a recent FEMTT axle articulation test....

I look forward to following your new build thread.

Just one suggestion (aka: word of warning):
To avoid close encounters of the WEBSITE RULES kind, you should avoid any and all references to ZOMBIES, PREPPING, APOCALYPSE, DOOMSDAY, and SHTF EVENTS as any such discussion is a violation of those polices and is strictly enforced.

Carry on.

Is it just me? Or does That truck look like it came off the assembly line, made just like that from the MFG?

That's priceless! Lookin ahead to the next "Grand Adventure" in heavy Truck modification made to look OEM and beautiful!

What if you built a stand for the tank with hyd cylinders at each corner that held it just high enough so you could back under it and lower it onto the truck...the tank could be kept full and ready and able to be loaded in as much time as you would need to back under it, drop the jacks, tighten the latches...
