Recovery4x4,
Ya know, Lil Ruthie's one of the newer deuces, an '88, so there wasn't all that much corrosion on the lugs. Once they cracked/broke loose it went pretty good.
The A3 rims on the other hand had 'crimped lock nuts' on the outside rims(3 inch studs?). So with the thread corrosion, and the lock nut, and the stud length, they were burning hot by the time they got to the end of the stud! All the lugs were soaked in penetrating oil days before the work.

Howdy all, Ruthie is a good looking truck !

You mentioned the A3 rims where bad about rusting around the o-rings have you or anyone else round here tried applying liberal amounts of GAA or equivalent one the offending area. Thats what we use when changing the LMTV tires and the like works on humvee wheels to. It helps hold the o-ring in place to and should displace water form getting in there.

Again looks good !

WOW your truck looks great!!!! I 've got one question and only one question...any issues with the tire size difference??? 14.5 on the front 11.00 on the rear what happens when you lock the front axle in???? shouldn't it pull at a different rate?? OK OK maybe more than one question.. Vinny I still think the truck looks TUFF!!!!!

Per a Michelin spec sheet the 14.5R20 are 43.4"dia and the 11.00R20 are 43.1" dia. I would think that as close as a "new" tire vs. an"old" 2cents .

Now if he parks his truck outside near me he will find 9.00X20ndt on it in the mornig :p

OK that makes no sense... I checked out the spec sheet an a 14.00 is 49.4" tall and the 14.5 is 43.4" tall how does that work?? 15.5 is 46.4" 16.00 is 52.9 the 14.50 is the odd ball height.. Vinny

Took Lil Ruthie out for a shakedown ride with the new XL's before the big Veteran's Day weekend events. I wasn't kidding about the XL's making the truck too big to get out the garage door, had to get the sawzall out. Just couldn't air down enough to get thru. Seems to track pretty good, a little bouncy over the bumps at speed. But I'll know more after I put on a couple hundred miles this parade weekend.
