I didn't actually do anything on Brutus today. However, my son and his wife came by ( they live 45 miles away ) and I showed Dan all of the repairs I've made this Summer. Shortly afterwards, Amanda informed me, that I was going to become a Grandfather for the first time in May!!!Grand

Thanks! I really debated about putting that one station on the top of the transmission tunnel but 1) if I put it behind the seat down low it would be really hard to reach, and 2) by making this the "commander" unit I can wear it and adjust my volume while driving.
I like where you put everything JC. It looks very logical to me. Sometimes the available choices can be rather daunting.

Just finished a 3 hour round trip in pouring rain into the City (where I do not like to go with the Deuce) to pick up a pallet from a warehouse. Freight forwarder sent me to the wrong address. Once at the right warehouse, they could not locate the pallet. Turns out, it hasn't been delivered, yet. So I went all they way home.

My theory of how one is automatically screw*d as soon as one depends upon other people for doing their jobs right, was once again confirmed.

At least I got to drive the Queen.

I call that a "cluster f#ck". Three hours in a military vehicle in rain is not easy. I would be screwing around with my air wipers and defrost the entire time. Plus, I'm sure you have many important tasks to do as it is.

Owen,

I have to say it: CONGRATULATIONS GRANDPA! I hope all goes smoothly and a happy and healthy baby boy or girl arrives right on time.

Thanks Tim! Yeah, I'm pretty excited about it. Dan and Amanda are going to make great parents. My daughter Sheila and I are already thinking about what devilish toys I could buy. Sheila suggested a miniature drum set if it's a boy. Dan plays drums, guitar and bass ( I just play bass myself ) so it would be divine retribution for all of the times I was woken up prematurely by Dan playing the drums with his pals.
I used to just give up, strap on my bass and play with them. Then I would go to work exhausted. Yeah, I'm gonna have some fun!

Got my cargo light installed in the bed. I'm really happy with how this came together. First try, I wasn't getting ground. Had to take it out and scrape a little paint off. Now it works great and I think looks great--very natural place to mount it.

(yes, the switch is on in the pic. It's not really wired yet, but touching the wire to the positive battery terminal worked for a test!)

Is it like an intercom between the driver and the troops? Are there headsets?

The intercom box is to the right there, but this post was about the cargo light in the center.

Yes the VIC-1 intercom system uses headsets. Mine has 3 stations: driver, passenger and cargo area.

Sorry. I never realized it was a light. I thought it was part of the intercom. I didn't notice the light or read your text properly.

Winterfront 2020.jpg
I put on Brutus' winter front today and plugged his block heater into my garage . It was 27 degrees here last night. I also ran him to charge up his batteries. I still can't drive him, because his inspection sticker is overdue and the truck shop I use hasn't received any new stickers from PA yet. Bummer.

Lookin Good Owen! Amazing what a blanket will to to make the human inside the truck happier - and the truck too!

Cute helper DB! Why did you have so many holes in your cab?
I'm not certain, but I think those 6 holes are where the U-Bolts go to support the Convoy Light pole. At least that is what they are for on a 5-Ton... Those little plugs though - are pretty neat if you only have one light pole or maybe none... Less ways for yellow jackets to find a nice place to build a nest. Especially down south.
