    Oshkosh MK48, any experience/owners?

Well then, maybe I should just put my $$ and muscle into restoring my deuce and quit dreaming about the MK48. It's always cool though to be the first one in your neighborhood to get one though! My neighbors already think I'm crazy.

Yikes! I'm on the sidelines for the show then.

    Oshkosh MK48, any experience/owners?

Well keeping my eye out Well I'm here working in Victorville, CA just down the road from Oceanside and Barstow. Already have a deuce and CUCV M1009 and looking to expand the empire. Will be curious to see what the MK48s go for this week.

    Oshkosh MK48, any experience/owners?

If I were to get a MK48, I probably wouldn't want the hydraulic boom so I might be game for that trailer. Might be fun to operate though!

    Oshkosh MK48, any experience/owners?

I see a few of these for sale periodically. Do you have to have a trailer being towed behind you for these vehicles to be stable at road speeds since the wheelbase is so short? Are they heavy on maintenance? And I would guess parts are much tougher to come by than for 2 1/2ton or 5ton vehicles...

    Cab roof rusted through holes

Purchased this deuce out of Imperial Beach,CA four or five years ago. Has a fair amount of rusted through surface area above the doors on both sides of vehicle. I am guessing I'll have to cut out the rusted areas with an air cutter. Have read threads here about using Metal fillers but would the...

    Deuce cooling system clean out

thank you all for your input. Got a busy weekend ahead.

    Deuce cooling system clean out

It was overheating possibly because the upper neck had a sliver of a crack developing around the necks circumference so it needed brazing. But probably also from the innards being pretty clogged up also per the tech. For $100 I had it brazed, cored and re-painted. Going through all the hoses...

    Deuce cooling system clean out

Pulled my radiator and had it cored. Tech said he cleaned it out but was more work than he thought. My 1985 had 7300mi on it. Before I put the radiator back in I'm thinking I need to clean out the block and heater core. Any suggestions for doing the best, most thorough job before re-assembling...

Leaking Diesel From Filter Housing? New filter didn't fix issue? What to do?

I've got the same exact issue 91W350. But my routine requires trying to start the beast three times before she fires up. If she starts the first crank she runs rough, then stalls and becomes a bear to start again. I think I've got an air leak in my fuel line and in addition I am dropping fuel...

    Strange starting issue

I have the exact same problem w/o having changed the plugs or the relay. When I first took receipt of the vehicle it fired right up. I noticed a fuel leak, took the filter off for a look, re-assembled (yes I took the pink wire off the fuel injector to prime the filter while cranking) and have...

    cucv leak at fuel filter

Hell, I'm moving from Mesa to Tucson next summer to work at DM so I don't see why not. Where'd you buy your filter setup and were there alot of mods required?

    cucv leak at fuel filter

My filter is leaking too. It was replaced at 2700 miles and the vehicle now has 7500miles on it. Very hard starting unless warm from running and I live in Phx! Thought it was the overflow tube but appears to be the filter assy itself. Design must really suck for everyone to be having issues with it.

    AC 60G glow plug issue

I'd prefer not to do that. I guess I'll go back and look at obtaining a true 24V unit.

    AC 60G glow plug issue

I'm sure others are aware of it but the AC 60G glow plugs recommended by GM for the civilian engines will not connect to the stock wire socket. They are too wide. Should I go ahead and reduce the width on the glow plug tab and use them or go with another part?

    Just recently hard starting M1009

I'm guessing the fuel filter kept filling from the pump and initiated the fuel overflow out the overflow tube. Still having a hard time starting this beast but once warm it's no problem. Temp out here in Az right now at night is maybe low 70s. that shouldn't be a problem. Any ideas out there?

    Just recently hard starting M1009

By my count 6-8 seconds on initial startup. If the engine has been running and I start her up again there is no light illumination whatsoever.

    Just recently hard starting M1009

Bought this unit three months ago out of Jefferson City, MO and came with 4300 mi. original. Was driven into the site and fired right up on delivery and has consistently been running/starting fine. Just in last week and a half however it has become harder and harder to fire up. Usually 6-10...

    GL CUCV Question

I shopped the transport companies. They all came in at just under $800 delivered. I priced a ticket from Phx to K.C., a bus fare to Columbia, MO; a taxi to Jefferson City; fuel from MO to AZ and possibly three nights lodging not to mention 4-5 days of my time. It was way cheaper to hire a...

    GL CUCV Question

My EUC went to Battlecreek last Monday and came back Thursday approved. Have a transit company picking it up on 6/2. Mike confirmed the vehicle is running. He started it up while I was on the phone which means the transit co. can just drive it on the trailer w/o using a truck with winch which is...
