M932A1 with shorter drop side deuce bed

Have another storage box on the way. I will mount it above the box next to the exhaust. This will give me the added room for the extras needed for towing/recovering vehicles.

I did a civilian wiper upgrade using the components that are used for the deuce. I ended up using the old arm by cutting it down and rewelding it and using the adapter from the civilian arm to mount civy blades. Doesn't look too bad and works a lot better !

Thanks for the picture, that looks great !

I'm also thinking about putting a couple of gas can holders on top. I'll have to see if they will cause issues with the exhaust.

Man, great minds think alike. I have a used USGI and a brand new Blitz jerry can holder just waiting in the project queue to be painted and mounted. With the narrower 809 cab, I was able to mount one in front of the lower tool box. I aslo mounted one on the right rear mud guard, but I use that only for a water can due to safety concerns. So, two on top of the tool/utility boxes would give me a total of five.

I thought above using Deuce type mud guards. I like the idea of quickly being able to remove them for off road fun. All I have to do is pull a pin and off they come.

Got the other storage box and have it mounted. Lots of places to put stuff now !

My next project will probably be a 24v to 12v converter hooked up to a power plug for gps and other needs.
Of the many mods and bobs that I've seen here, few have such pleasing proportions and intentional assemblage as what you've remanufactured.

That last mod looks oddly familiar:roll: NICE[thumbzup]. I know what you need now, a 939 series battery box upgrade kit. Takes the batteries out of the cab and, if you only run two batts, it also gives you more storage space.

I won't be doing the battery box upgrade. It puts the box too low to the ground. My truck will see some off roading.

Do you have plans to move the batteries outside the cab. I know some of the 939 owners here have different setups to accomplish the move. I personally wouldn't want the batts riding inside with me.

BTW...what did you use for spacers between your tool/utility boxes? Are the four metal pieces fabricated, from stock or from the junk heap?

The battery box is vented through a hole in the back of the cab that's sealed off from air in the cab. It works for me.

With the batteries in the cab it makes it very easy to add accessories with an in line fuse for protection. I have a solargizer, battery tender, dome light and soon to add a 24v to 12v converter so I can have power for a gps or cell phone etc.

The metal spacers are actually trailer axle clamps. I wanted a little space between the boxes.

Been wanting to get a Solargizer. Just never seem to order one. I see them on eBay all the time, but never seem to click the buy it now. Did you or will you mount the solar panel on the cowl ahead of the windshield?


I like your spacers on the boxes. I used three sections of fiberglass troop seat slats. I wanted some stand off so moisture would not accumulate between the boxes and rust them out. My original box had a rusted through floor and my brother's friend fixed it up for me.

My solargizer is mounted to the antenna post between the spare tire and storage box. Its up and out of the way and in plane sight of the sun :grin:

Helped my buddy recover his xm813 from IA yesterday. Put 620 miles on the M93xa1 in one day. It performed perfectly. I'm very pleased. We didn't need the tow bar setup since his truck ran great. No issues on the recovery. He'll post up later. It was a very long day starting for me at 215am and finishing up at home at 915pm. Awesome day.
