seperating water from oil with out a heat sourse?
So just shows u cannot trust any oil. The oil at my hobby shop that me and a couple guys have was susposed to only be oil and ATF. We have seperate drum for other. Well I trusted it and dump 10 gallons of diesel into it stired it up and sucked...
So every one think I'm crazy that I have been running 80 % waste motor oil in a cat 3116? I filter to 1 micron and the truck has never ran better. Smokes less on it and starts better. Runs 20* hotter on the gauge. Only thing I miss is that diesel smell.
when I ran #2 in mine I used lucus. With the wmo I use 6 oz of seafoam for a 55 gallon drum. I also run some acetone in it. That really helps the milage. That people debate about more then the oil.
6.2 and 6.5 I never heard any real problems but lack of power. Just like any motor, running out of the sweet zone and boom! I believe that is the problem with cat 3116 and the multi. Both motors you hear of a full long life, from responsible drivers.
I understand what you guys are saying, but I have already saved over 3k in fuel and if it goes another 10k with out problems then that turns to 6k. It seems to run smoother and quieter on the oil, and has more power. It does run about 20 degrees warmer. I have a fuel heater on it as well...
Hello,
I have been running Wmo in my cat motor, and am up to 80% wmo. I filter it to 1 micron using the oiltofuel system. I haven't had any problem and wondering if anyone is running more then 80%
it is a all mechanical engine, I know cat has a 2 micron filter and not sure how that would work with wvo. I have sseen in other posts that wmo is a bad ideal in them.
What weight springs are you guys using for your trucks? I am wanting to run 3/4 or 1 ton leafs and have some air springs that are good for 5k of weight. I want to smooth the ride but not limit weight capacity.
I live in Denton and just bought my first too. Haven't got it yet as I have to wait for a euc to clear. In 6 months or so the guys and me at Tommy's Hi Tech will know since we are going though the whole truck. :D
