    Deuce Transmission Removal Crossbar

TM9-2320-209-34-2-1, chapter 8 has transmission removal. If everything is disconnected, I'd think either your input shaft is stuck in the pilot bushing or you otherwise have too much bind from how you're lifting it.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Tubes and flaps I got for $140 shipped on 2 sets. I went with Firestone on the tube. Didn't check before ordering and it was too bad it said "Made in China" when it arrived. I wasn't finding the part numbers from the parts TM except for the NSN lookup sites.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Recently did a sprag to air-shift swap, added coolant filter & remote brake fluid reservoir. Changed another bad flasher with an old-style spare I had but also ordered parts to make a Clinto civvy flasher box. New tube and flap for a steer tire (kicked myself for not putting a new flap in the...

M35a2 fuel cutoff rod springs back to firewall 5 o'clock position when cover removed

It actually starts easily, and runs great-- as long as I add some throttle and keep a high idle. The fuel shutoff arm however, returns to the 5 oclock position on its own rather than the 7 oclock position when manipulated with the engine off. That includes returning to the 5 oclock position from...

M35a2 fuel cutoff rod springs back to firewall 5 o'clock position when cover removed

Bump.. I've got the same thing going on. Runs like a top with some throttle set to hold 1000+ RPMs; reliably and rapidly slows down and dies without adding some throttle. Arm moves freely and settles in the 5 oclock position. Curious if anyone here has fixed this symptom on their own.

    24v battery charger/jumpstarter

My 24v jumper is a 12v vehicle. I just hook cables (from 12v vehicle) up to 1 battery on the deuce for a few minutes..then switch the cables to the other battery for a bit and start it.

    m35a2 wiring harness upgrade

Yes....the cheap harnesses are not a miracle bargain. They are not for the A2 without added DIY work; I had this problem on an ebay harness a few years ago. M35 gasser I think? Can't remember.. I think I wound up going through Erik's to get a true fit. If you wanted to do the work yourself you...

    Removing, rebuilding, reinstalling Hydraulic Head

Couldn't figure out how to delete the post. I found the answer to my question in this thread. Pertained to the part with the dimple, that goes in the slot just above the spring on the HH. I picked pointing it up. It works, same as before. Unfortunately my truck still won't hold idle and dies...

Installing a new belt on the air pump

Could a guy just turn his crank with a wrench?

    front hub smoking.

Wheel bearing is out. Jack it up and push/pull the top of the tire towards/away from the center of the truck. There should be very little play, but I'm betting you'll have a bunch; as well as noticeable drag and gritty noise when you spin it.

How much grease should I buy?

1 tube should last at least a 3-4 thorough grease jobs if you do it frequently. Plan on burning through an extra tube the 1st time, getting old grease out.
