Thanks for the replies. A mule sure would look cool in the 105, & would be handy around the farm. Time to do a lot of research & get educated on these.
Saw a Mule at the Vietnam base mockup at Patriots Point, SC. Had a full day checking out the USS Yorktown. Don't know too much about the mules. Are they hard to find?
I am also unable to get my winch drain plug loose but it's not stripped. I may try to concentrate some heat just on the plug first, but one could take a cheap 3/8" extension, make sure it's seated as deeply as possible, then weld it to the plug.
I've had at least 3 flat tires on the deuce & they are no fun - 2 nails & a cut front sidewall going down a trail at Muddi Gras where the machinegun range is. A piece of shrapnel from a car that was shot up hit the sidewall & it was flat in about 3 seconds.
I keep my deuce in my father-in-law's barn, which isn't far from my house. Don't drive it too often, especially in the winter, but try to get it out once in awhile. Was watching some deuce videos on Youtube & got the fever to drive it. So I brought it to the house to pull some PM's & drive it...
Yes that's true M16, but the original lights are very small in the first place & would be even less effective if they were dimmer. I just wanted to have better lights & will probably add some side markers too.
My flame heater was inop when I got the truck, so I got it working right away. However, it is not needed at all on my truck, at least down to 20 degrees. I try not to even start it when it's colder than that unless I really need it.
Thought about this for quite awhile, and read plenty of posts - how to leave the 24V system in place but still be able to have 12V lights when towing with my pickup. So I bought a new set of composite tail lights for the deuce since the old ones were a little faded looking & mounted the lights...
Welcome Jeff. You may want to search or post in the Deuce Mods & Hot Rodding forum. These engines do have some limitations. Mine's turned up just a little, but I'm more interested in keeping it together than breaking any speed records.
