Current Power-outages in South West Florida and new River Flooding

We live in Alva, Florida. I have an MEP-803A that performed well up until the very end of our power outage during Ian. Ran the 3 ton AC, well pump, refrigerators and chest freezer. Fuel consumption was about 1/3 gallon an hour. I had previously installed hard start kits on the AC units. I...

    Ultimate well nut repair

And the bent coat hanger shaped like an L worked great getting the new well nut into the drain hole. It had a 14mm slot in the top to hold it in place while you tightened it. I thought I was going to have to wrestle a vice grip in the tank from the filler hole.

    Ultimate well nut repair

I just used the washer that came with it. It looked like an aluminum washer with a copper plating on it. I put it in a vise and used a step bit to get the hole big enough for the well nut. I was Leary’s of galvanized since we think that the coating is coming off when exposed to the fuel. You...

New old stock 803 break in oil.

I had a similar problem. Oil was a quart high. Drained mine from the bottom also. No water. Talked to the guy I bought it from. He thinks he added the Lucas burn in additive on top of the regular oil change.

MEP 803A Corrosion On Fuel Fill Components

That's what I had all over the metal parts that touched the fuel, gooey gray paste. I ordered the new brass fittings this morning. Should have before the weekend and installed before Doria gets here. Went two weeks without power during Irma. Not doing that again. Smelled like a signal 7 when I...

MEP 803A Corrosion On Fuel Fill Components

Thank you all for the great comments. I ordered the new parts this morning per Boatman69. He lives right around the corner. Would be great to compare notes.

MEP 803A Corrosion On Fuel Fill Components

I ended up removing both metal pieces after removing the top piece over the radiator. The hardest part was trying to separate the exhaust pieces after they were clamped together and run a few times. I didn’t’ have a torch so in desperation, I used a heat gun. Didn’t this would work but it did. I...

MEP 803A Corrosion On Fuel Fill Components

The coating on the metal pieces is pretty significant on the filler spout/screen and the bracket it slides into. I am concerned that this will contaminate the fuel if it hasn't already. I was considering removing the bracket and cutting of the metal of the bracket that sits in the tank. Taking...

MEP 803A Corrosion On Fuel Fill Components

I noticed my fuel gauge ran up past full when I ran it last and then went below empty and stayed there. Checked the resistance, none there. Open circuit right at the sensor. Tried to take out the sensor but it fell apart when I removed the top flange. I figure I can reach in from the filler...

    Mep 803 exhaust pipe/extension

The generator tech at the county mentioned it as soon as he saw the install. "Are you venting it outside?" The guy I bought it from also said something along those lines. The "pole barn" is actually masonary finished in stucco.

    Mep 803 exhaust pipe/extension

Needs some help in deciding how to extend the exhaust for my MEP 803A. I have mine installed under roof in a partially enclosed pole barn. In order to vent it outside, It needs to run straight up 4’ and then horizontally over 6’ for a total of a 10’ run. I was planning on supporting it from...

source for upper radiator hose for MEP-803a

I have not had to replace the thermostat or the hoses. The MEP 803A I picked up last month was in very good condition. Still has the break in oil. I have been picking up some spare parts here and there. The idea of taking the hoses to a parts place is a great idea. I had a similar experience...

source for upper radiator hose for MEP-803a

Have you have you tried the radiator place on Fowler? I found a radiator for a Lister there. They had to dig around in a bunch of junk in the attic. It was pretty cheap.

source for upper radiator hose for MEP-803a

I am in for one set, pending price.

MEP-803A Outlet box location on right side?

I had the same problem. The blank cover on the right side fits nicely on the left side, covering the hole once you take out the plate with the grommet. There is another blank plate on the inside, between the storage box and the and the output terminals. Remove the grommet from the plate you took...
