It's a real m1008. I know the previous owner, he also has an m1009 that he's selling for parts. I've seen this m1008 in person several times in the last couple of month and can vouch for it being an m1008 and not a civilian truck.

I'm having an issue with the transmission in the m1009. When its cold, it'll shift and move. As soon as it warms up, it wont shift at all. When its warm, the engine just revs and nothing happens. If I manually shift it, nothing happens either. If i let it cool down, it will shift again but...
You were right, I wasn't paying enough attention and had the dark blue wire hooked up. It's on the right blue wire now and the relay is working. The wait light doesn't work anymore though lol

Just picked up a m1009 with both alternators missing. It will turn over and start for now. Is it safe to run it without the alternators for couple of minutes so I can move it into the garage ?
