I for one would love more information on the prototype PIP for the G-742 that produced the 2.5 ton version of the XM-956. If you could get some clear information on that into a single source, I would very much like to read about it. It would also be great to have the book include the M135/M211...
Gimpy it seems that is the reason, but the he said he is also mounting a connex box on the truck so a wider stance would provide more stability in windy conditions.
You could flip the hubs on the A3 axles back to the standard layout and add the necessary chamber to the inside of the wheel. This will allow you to run the A3 wheels much like the M939A1+ trucks. It may be the cheapest solution as you will only need to cover the cost of tools if you do it...
Welcome aboard Forrest. Where did you happen to find this truck? It looks to be surprisingly like one that I had a lead on recently. Nice clean 52. I didn't have money to get it though. Timing is close enough that I believe this is the same truck.
Wouldn't be an M275 or M275 conversion, but rather bobbing it but keeping 6x6. I do believe it has been done before and wouldn't look bad at all. Go for it. Might be a handy truck to have.
Should be doable. I do believe it is a 45 degree chamfer and the only real issue would be matching the depth of the cut. Best of luck if you try it, and as always WE NEED PICTURES!!!
Since the trailer seems to be insulated enough, go for it. The benefits do not seem outweigh the negatives. Whatever makes the trailer work best for you is what must be done
I feel like it would be a good idea to leave it. Not only would it help make cooling the trailer easier, still air also serves as a natural insulator. close up the vents when it gets cold and the trailers interior is insulated from the cold air outside. Feel free to disregard my suggestion, as...
tobyS I hear what you're saying about over-modifying it, but this deuce would never be sold after I build (it when I do). Even if I were to try it wouldn't sell because I like tailoring things to myself. And while a bed is nice to have and a fifth wheel is overkill, its more of an appearance...
Another update on my plans for the deuce. Redesigned the front clip of the truck with some MTVR inspired design features. Starting to rack up quite a build list and I don't even have the truck yet. Lol! I am probably getting too far ahead of myself. It seems that's what I get for being young and...
It looks to me that someone took a M135 and put wheels with the centers flipped on the tandems. The dish does not appear to be deep enough to be running dual or standard deuce wheels in a singled configuration.
