Outstanding! It looks like a great time was had by all. Yeah, Marines do have a fondness for taverns. Of course, I am sure that it is only due to our Tun Tavern connection as Ontos66 mentioned.
It looks like I am not he only one that has a starched cover to wear!
I never did find the "official" size data on the paperclips. But after getting a rough measurement on them from my friend Blake's. I came up with a 3/4" round bar bent into a loop about 8" tall with about a 3" inside. I went to an automotive spring shop and had them make them. They were...
First off, your vehicle = your right to do with it as you see fit.
Second, other peoples opinions don't mean a thing.
Third, oh my God! What a terrible thing to do to a beautiful truck! I am no soldier (Marines are quick to point that out), but the only way I could see your mods in a dream...
I don't remember riding in them at Parris Island. But, I guess we chalked up several miles in them in ITR at Camp Geiger, although not as many as we did on foot at 'Verona Loop'. ( By the way, did any of you other jarheads do ITR at the Camp Stone Bay area of Camp Geiger? It was back near the...
When you have the time, would you please see what info you can come up with on my truck?

No pics from me. Unfortunately, I left the camera on my folding chairs in the garage, where I had carefully stacked them to make sure they were not left behind. At least I did not forget to drive the M37. I'll try to do better next time, I promise.
Peecook, I'm sorry to hear about the mechanical trouble. I know how frustrating that whole situation can be. I hope it didn't put too big a damper on the days outing for you.
All in all, I think this worked out extremely well. Especially for a first time event. Good company, military...
I just heard from some of the other VMPA guys and it looks like a total of three guys and one wife saying they are coming. Projected vehicles are a 1944 MB, a Nam era/painted deuce and a desert painted deuce. They are all shooting for 1000. I have a couple of quick projects tomorrow morning...
I'll have everything designated for me on list, probably a few other odds and ends as well. I have had no further word from other members of the VMPA. Last 'semi-official' word I had was 1 definite (plus probably his wife) and 2 probable/maybe/like too's.
I'll see you tomorrow!
I'll be heading out to the store later today or tomorrow and pick up the items listed for me. If any thing else comes up, just let me know.
Also, I have emails out to Blake and the VMPA guys to see how many or if they are attending. I'll post again tonight with any feedback.
I'm really...
I still plan on attending and driving my M37. Is there anything I can bring?
I talked to several of the guys at our VMPA (Virginia Military Preservation Association) meeting yesterday and two or three of them have said they would like to attend. If a definite head count is needed I can try...
Chris,
If the Mt Trashmore location does not seem to work out in the next day or so, let me know and I can ask my Marine Corps League Detachment if we can use their facility. It is in Great Bridge (Chesapeake) and just off Battlefield Blvd near the locks. I will probably be going by there...
