Official 2020 Georgia Military Vehicle Rally buy-sell-trade thread

I'm looking for 2 Goodyear 395/85R20 MV/T tires with 80+% tread. Ideally I'd like to simply swap these mounted on LMTV rims for the two Michelin 395/85R20 XML tires that I have on LMTV rims. Basically if someone is looking for a matched set of LMTV Michelins, I'll swap plus add some cash to get...

2019 Georgia Military Vehicle Rally buy-sell-trade

When is the Georgia rally this year? Is it at Durhamtown? Didn't see it under the threads: General/Steel Soldiers Rally or General/Upcoming Events. Here you go! When: October 16-20, 2019...

    deuce 12v conversion

Totally agree with rustystud. 24v light bulb costs are negligible when compared to a voltage conversion. Also, LED lights are affordable now and you won't have to worry about replacing them for a very long time.

    Bobbed Wrecker concept

FIVE years later and I am still digging this. Thanks for the update and please keep us posted.

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

As for people stopping, I think the vast majority of people don't even realize that these vehicles (LMTV or otherwise) can be owned outside of the military. Therefore, most people probably assume that help/support is on the way if they see a MV on the side of the road. Just my 2cents.

    Need Advice

I tend to agree more with sandcobra. I don't know about a "better than average" deuce being worth ~$14k. I had the newer M35A3, completely tricked it out (pic below and build thread in signature), and sold it for less than $9k (I wasn't in a hurry to sell either and I would rate it in...

    Deuce Tailgate Crane

I think this is a novel/clever idea, but it would not be tall enough to work without completely rebuilding the base to make it higher. As built it basically has a maximum extended boom height of 73". That doesn't really leave any room for the height of whatever it is you're lifting. From the...

LMTV seat options for three kids and two adults

Post some pics of the available space when you get a chance. I thought there was more room than that.

LMTV seat options for three kids and two adults

Instead of removing the center seat, how about adding two "jump" seats, one on each side. They could function like in the photo below (from a Chevy S10) but you could affix them so they don't necessarily fold up.

    FMTV High Speed Gears

Yeah, I saw where that was said, before I posted. However, since I've seen conflicting information, I was hoping that someone else might shed some light to show that the prototype locker wasn't the only option.

    FMTV High Speed Gears

Is there perhaps a variant of the LMTV that does have locking diffs? I've been researching this but I keep coming up with conflicting information. In particular I have found several places claiming that the LMTV's have "Full-time All-wheel Drive and Integral transfer case with locking...

    R.I.P.--TIGGER--Matthew Helms

So sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Although I only met him over the course of one rally, he was a remarkable person and just a super nice guy.

Maybe I'll get a MB (military boat) next.
