What kind of paperwork do you guys use to drive these things home? [if any ]. Pa. does not seem to have any kind of temp transit without first having a good titlle which as everyone knows is not an instant or speedy thing wiht GL!
I know this post is getting dated but here goes anyway. The 218 has the same input spline as the 208 but the mount pattern is "clocked" a little different .It will cause the front output to be much higher/lower than intended. (can't remember which at the moment) the 218 is different than the242...
Hate to say it but it could indicate a failing head gasket. Allowing the t-stat to get air bound and not open properly. bring the motor up to temp and check for continuing air bubbles in the overflow tank . not good.
You should have a dana 70 with 7.17 ratio gears. depending on bill of material # for your axle you can gear up to 4.10 or 4.56 without changing the carrier. anything tall will require a carrier change. I streched the frame on mine to accept a 6 foot stock box and it works great .
I have ran bio and svo thru my 6.2s for severa years without any major drama. However , regular filter changes and a good understandig of whats going on with your motor are essiential.
