Planning to recover a M37 next week and was wondering what the best way to chain it down to the trailer is. Will be using chain binders.
Cross pattern side to side? (Right side truck to left side trailer)
Front/back outward or inward under the truck?
Want to do it right for safety (and the...
I'm in the process of locating a M37 which I will be making into a GT. In my research to date, I'm finding that originals of the configuration that I want to build are for the most part being done or "on reserve". I'm still digging and thanks to Driver 523, James Lyles and others I may find an...
Some photos from this past weekend's Wings and Wheels in CT. Weather wasn't good, did the best I could.

Hoping for better weather than the last few years (means no rain this year, please!)
Anyone plan on bringing a M54??
Asking for a friend who is building a model. Did the cargo M54s that served in Nam have head boards? That would be at the front of the bed, behind the cab. I have looked at some photos and can see the slat-board sides but there isn't enough detail to see if it's the same at the front. I'm...
Heard on the news this morning that Charles Kaman, founder of Kaman Aircraft, died yesterday at the age of 91. He developed a helicopter that did not need a tail rotor to fly by using two counter-rotating main blades.
Does anyone have a lead to where I could find a diagram or photo showing the button functions on Huey cyclic? I can get a photo of the one in the NEAM's UH-1B without too much trouble, but I'd like to know what the hat switch and other buttons do.
Thanks in advance!
After reading the thread below on the HO scale deuce, I was looking thru the Herpa (formerly Roco) offerings in HO and came across a M54 (5 Ton) and they were on sale. I had my dealer order one and it came in yesterday. I've already started converting it to a guntruck, I'll need to decide...

MASSACHUSETTS MILITARY RESERVATI
Looks like a good time, MVs, re-enactors etc. I have heard that there may be a WW2 tank or two (Sherman, Chaffee, Stewart and/or Hellcat). Hope the good run of weekend weather holds....

I've been to each one so far and they keep getting better every year. WW2 themed, not so...
I'm looking for as much info and photos as possible for the M37 gun truck Satan's Little Helper. I've only found 2 photos so far, in Hard Ride II and Through a Google search. The only info I have is that it was in the 88th Trans Co.
My ultimate goal is to do this truck, but I would like to...
I heard over the weekend that there isn't going to be a MV show at the Sportsman's Club this year. Anyone know if that is true? It was one of the better shows I went to last year and I have been looking forward to it.
I have posted a few pics from the event last weekend at my gallery:

Looks to be a good show if the weather co-operates. Not an airshow, but I'm told they will be trying to fly all the F4U's once/day.
The 33rd annual COMVEC show has been scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Chester Fairgrounds, Chester, CT (same location as the 2009 show). The 2009 show was a great success and it is hoped that the 2010 show will be even bigger and better!
Some photos from the 2009 COMVEC show...
If this is the wrong place for this, Mods please move. While on my way home, I happened across what appears to be a WW2 era Chevy 1 1/4 ton truck. The for sale sign says Chevy army truck, a phone number and $750. It's located in Cheshire, CT in front of Bishop's Farms.
I didn't want to get...
I have a chance to purchase a M-29c Weasel but I'd like to get a ballpark price for transportation charges. It's in CO, I'm in CT. Not sure about timeframe, I'm in no big rush but can't say the same about the seller. I'm told it runs and as it's tracked, I wouldn't see any loading/unloading...
Ok, I'm a FNG and know it, so if this has been mentioned already, shoot me!
I've read a few threads here about how to keep a duece from roaming and I thought of one thing I haven't seen mentioned. Not knowing much about diesels (yet) I don't know if it's a viable option, but I'll put it out...
