i pack the hub full. If you dont you have to repack every so often whereas if you pack the entire hub full the cetrifugal force ont he grease constantly supplies some to the bearings as you drive normally. Takes alot of grease but why wouldnt you do this while you had it apart?
I pull a 48,500 GVW trailer behind my truck sometimes 8500 pounds empty with a 951c caterpillar track loader 29000 pounds . This trailer has good air brakes and is rated to haul 40000 pounds on it max. Now i dont pull this out on the interstate or even out on the road with my M35 thats why i...
yeah i was concerned about maintaining the streetability with a locker in the front although it would probably provide the most additional traction in the front with the way the weight is distributed on these things. Does anyone on here run a locker in the front?
Thinking about adding one of these to my truck. i dont do any hardcore offroading or anything like that however i do use my truck on occasion to pull heavy loads (off road) on a trailer (25,000lbs up to 35,000lbs) on a tag along trailer with air brakes. i pull slow and only use it where my...
how many people run this digital guage on their truck and has anyone had one for a long time. im thinking aqbout buying one but wanted to get some feedback on how durable these guages are.
all the fules listed will run good the problems begin to happen when you run too high of a viscosity fuel in the tank with the pump not supplying enough pressure through all the filters making for harder starts. I have run limited amounts of 90 weight oil in mine no problems rand 100% 20W hyd...
i have a bolt on reciever that takes the standard 2X2 plug in hitch for balls etc. Im going to remove it from my truck i can take a pic and send to you if you think you might be interested in it.
what i done is welded a small portion at a time used a garden hose flowing water through the inside of the spindle at the same time. the cost of getting it reground is about 50 bucks and me do the welding. I had the guy at the machine shop test it it is not heat treated metal only measures...
Welded up my front spindle today after spinning the outer front wheel bearing and having it re machined today. FYI the spindle is not hardened fron the factory but i do suspect it is a good alloy like 4140 or 4350. Hope to get it back together tonight. Anyone else do this to fix a spindle...
i think just about all the origional pto's were mechanical on these trucks mostly driving forward mounted winches mechanically. Im sure you can find aftermarket hydraulic PTO's that will fit the tranny. How much flow do you need.
yeah any modern 90 wt or heavier gear lube is much better than anything they had when these trucks came out origionally. Find some buy the cheap brand and yeah you need a pump for this thick oil.
take the front drive flanges off and check the grease in the front wheel bearings. I found out the hard way when i had one go out and spin the outer race till it welded to the spindle. The grease that was in there when i dissasembleed it looked like old cow manure and by feeling it it had...
I had the same problem happen last week luckily we have an equipment trailer we went and pick up our truck and got it tore down today. Our outer bearing went out and spun on the spindle till it ruined it. im in need of a good spindle and 2 spindle nuts if anyone has one id be more than willing...
