    surplus helicopters?

There's a scrap guy about 45 minutes from me who has maybe six chopper fusilages in his yard. I don't know what they are- narrow bodies and completely stripped with no tail pieces (unless he has them stored somewhere else). He told me they are composit bodies so he can't get any money for...

    Hopeful wishful dreaming, I KNOW

The Collings Foundation has a Huey that folks can ride in. $100 for front seat and $80 for the rear. I spoke to Rob Collings a week or so ago and he said it's in Florida right now. I asked about it coming to NY and he said not near here for a while. I don't know if it goes out west or not...

    Wolverine Tech. Centrifuge review

Thank you, Tim. I'll PM you w/ my address. I wasn't sure about oil temp, but didn't want to go over 200, so I set it just below that. I'll turn it down and heat it for a couple days. I don't think there is a lot of water in my WMO, but want what ever is there gone before I use it. I have...

    Wolverine Tech. Centrifuge review

A LITTLE WARNING!!! I left about two or three inches below the top of the barrel for expansion of the oil when it heats up. I had the temp set at almost 200 Deg. F and let it heat for two full days. When I checked it again after work, the oil had expanded and spilled over the edge. Maybe...

    Wolverine Tech. Centrifuge review

Woody, I'm interested to see how this performs compared to the bowl type centrifuges. I think I read somewhere, but I could be wrong, that one has to run the material through this type more than once? I guess for ANY kind of centrifuge, it ultimately depends on how dirty the material is that's...

    Wolverine Tech. Centrifuge review

OK boys, with help from my brother and my little guy, I got the set up going. Here's how I put it together. Materials I used were as follows: 55 gallon metal drum (free). From PA Biodiesel supply I ordered a barrel drum heater (made in the USA), 1/2" poly bulkhead fitting, and a 1/2" ball...

    external speaker with VIC-1?

Thanks CARNAC, I searching ideas and learning the system which is like a new puzzle to me. I was thinking of just a speaker that I could pass thruogh the cab's back window when needed and hang on the bed rack to rear passengers could be addressed, but the idea of another complete station is...

    external speaker with VIC-1?

Thanks so much guys! I guess that settles it; what I want to do is possible. Incidentally, I'm getting my VIC-1 (and apparently other components :-D) from Tbanks and popacom. Again, thanks to all for the help and info... John

    external speaker with VIC-1?

I'm getting a VIC-1 with suppressor and three stations that will be installed in my Deuce. I would like to install a military loud speaker in the back troop compartment for passenegers so they can hear me (or front seat passengers) when I need to address them. Some Q's: 1) Is this possible...

    Deuce Fuel in Oil

2500 bucks!?!?! I'm sure you covered this before you had it rebuilt, but are take-off injector pumps available on the market for less? Probably a dumb question, I know.

    fuel line replacement for biodiesel

And that's the fun part! If I still worked in the lab, I'm sure I could have run much of the testing on biodiesel. We had so much testing equipment to make sure all of the variables were within spec on all kinds of emulsions, Super Pave designs, recycle projects, fuels... We actually used...

    fuel line replacement for biodiesel

Thank you for the insight, jakwi. Would you say this water that could potentially be in a batch of biodiesel would be emulsified or just "there" like water sitting at the bottom of a gallong of fuel. Wouldn't the amount of H2O in the fuel would determine how well the fuel line water filter...

She won't start in the cold!

Do you mean that you leave the engine shut-off pushed in after shut-down and then pull it out just before you start it? I leave mine pulled out after I shut down. What does your friend recommend? Lax, my truck starts great in the cold, but I do appreciate you posting for help and for...

    fuel line replacement for biodiesel

What you post is interesting. I used to work in an emulsion lab making and testing mix designs for micro pave (a thin layer of bituminus emulsion that is layed on the road as a surface treatment). I'm no chemist by a long shot, but my understanding is that in order to make an emulsion, the...

Fined for running WMO (not me)

My first new car was a Saturn coup. It got 46 MPG on the highway and all I did was put gas in it. I should have kept it.

Fined for running WMO (not me)

You gots to pay and pay... Yeah, let's lock the old man up and throw away the key for not paying his, er... the gubment's way! The clowns that sent the letter to the old man should be locked up for meddling.

Fined for running WMO (not me)

Thanks for the links, clinto. If I'm reading that right, about 6% of the tax is "road tax". I wonder where the road tax is actually spent?

Fined for running WMO (not me)

As I understand it, about 50% of the cost of a gallon of gas is the actual tax on it, which does not go to fund the infrastructure we drive on. I could be wrong, but that's what was being touted when diesel went over $4.00 a gallon last year.
