Thanks for the input on this post. I have the same problem and jumped on to see what others have done. I have tail lights, but no brake lights and no turn signals. Head lights and convoy lights work great.
I'm an uncertified dummy, but I put a couple gallons of K1 in my '04 Dodge Cummins when it's really cold to keep fuel from gelling. I've never had a problem using it and if it weren't so expensive, I'd burn it in a multi with no worries. But that's just me.
The kits include two mounts and not long ago (three years or so?) they were about ten bucks per kit in Mil Veh Mag. I had the schematic for mounting, but who knows where they are now.
Where are the pics of the truck under construction that you mentioned that show the mounting of the ring? Also, what does the (Vietnamese?) writing on the truck translate to?
I know they weren't, stumps, and I appreciate the words of caution- truly. Many times we know better and get in a hurry and wind up in a bad way. It's never a bad thing to have folks watching your back! :-D
Thank you all for the input. A man was killed at my old job when the barrel blwe up that he was using as a work bench to weld or cut on. I would never be that dumb, but I understand you only know me as Yohan, the person who types stuff on SS. I could be a real moron and some have told me they...
It was late and I'm sorry I didn't clarify...
It will be a metal drum, standing upright with the valve near the bottom. I read someone's post where they have two valves; one closest to the bottom to drain off sludge, the other a little higher up to get the cleaner oil.
Thank you for all...
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should attach ball valves to my 55 gallon drums for WMO cleaning? Is it as simple as cutting a hole and threading a valve in, or should I weld it? The barrel walls don't seem thick enough to make a solid hold on a valve that is just screwed in...
I'm telling you boys, this "codes enforcement" thing is a load of garbage! It runs contrary to one of the basic tenants of America- PRIVATE PROPERTY. You take this away and you're left with, well, code enforcement goons.
If someone doesn't like what you park on your property, or the color...
Thanks ETHOS, I somehow didn't catch that on his site. I just purchased Tim's 10" turn-key centrifuge and will post a review when I get my "plant" set up. I'm trying to get my Deuce shipped home now...
Thank you for your input, Tim. With the motor you're using and the 10 inch bowl, do you know how many RPM's it is pulling and can anyone calculate the G Force of that set-up? Just curious. I didn't plan on running more than about 5-6 gallons per hour or less even, to get my oil really clean...
Driver, Thanks for the link. I emailed him. I had the pleasure of meeting Dave at the WW& Track show a couple years ago. He gave me my first Vietnamese beer! He also gave my son and I our first (and to date) only tour of a Gun Truck. He looked for us at start of the parade so my son could...
Thanks gents! I found this link in a search. Dave Coward is someone I consider a friend and was in on the truck planning and build... MTA Gun Truck Restoration
I looked for the Hard Ride (or Road) at B & IGnoble's, but got the name wrong and she couldn't find it. I have to gather some more...
Thank you for all the ideas. I like the idea of aluminum and building a box that can be lifted out. The article I have suggests using U-bolts to hang the armor so it can be removed. I guess I have to plan on either plates or a box. Lots of research left to do... Thanks again all!
